Female lead Kung Fu reboot on the CW

Im always getting a headache when i hear "CW"...because you just know that they will use the only formula they know with everything.

Not the biggest fan of this whole idea of rebooting stuff and making it female lead...i mean its better than just doing a Reboot because with a female lead you have a bit of a different approach...but still, it feels too much like they ran out of ideas for something truly unique.
But then, pretty much everything has been done already...so yeah, lets see if this goes farther in terms of developing.

So if she both had majority and chose to go and is young enough to headline a CW show that doesn't leave much time for a monastic life.

King Fu was much more than that. Even as TV I doubt part of her background would be Chinese agents tracking her down. Ten years ago Hawaii 5-0 turned Wo Fat into an ex agent. I doubt that anyone has the corporate courage to have a misguided or rogue Chinese agent chase the new Caine.

Having a female lead and rebooting a franchise don't inherently make me roll my eyes although the number of reboots but-with-a-female-lead instead is starting to get tiresome.

The original series was boring and lacking in martial arts skills. But Kwai Chang Cain was only a kid when he joined the Shaolin temple and not a college student. How will this female version have developed the skills over a long enough period?

The skills shouldn't be a problem, it would be the mindset of the monastic life in my opinion. With Dolomite on Netflix now it reminds me that back in the day you just had to look different from a boxer and kick every now and then. Where as today we watch MMA and think that Kung Fu really isn't the greatest Kung Fu but still get off on actors trained in theatrical martial arts

I have no problem with a new Kung-Fu series.

Between the background of the old Kung Fu series and this one, it's amazing the acrobatics that American media go through to avoid casting Asian men in leading roles.
