Yet another mature discussion here in the cubicles, this time about girls and women that have raspy voices. The consenus around here is that they've "been around the block a few times", whatever that means. Either that or they're just chain smokers. Does a raspy voice do it for you, or a more flightly, giggly vocaled female?

I like the raspy voices . . . and I would equate them w/ dames who smoke (and likely party) a lot . . . this would also lead one to believe that they have also 'been around the block' a few times, but I wouldn't say that they always directly correlate . . .

Tara Reid.:o

Dr. Girlfriend from the Venture Bros. has a deep baratone voice...and she's implied to have been around.

I usually associate raspy voices with chain smokers. They don't really do it for me, except for maybe a younger Kathleen Turner.

Kathleen Turner, Laura Prepon (Donna from 70s Show), Demi Moore and Kirsti Ally are some of the women with the hottest husky voice I've heard.

I can't say I prefer it but as Lloyd says "I like it alot"

i don't like women who purposefully make their voices sound baby-ish (Britney). it's one thing if a girl's voice is naturally high-pitched (can be cute) but i hate when girls try to sound like that on purpose. to me that says a lil' bit about their maturity level.

as for raspy voices...they are sexy sometimes (Scarlette Johansson is one example) but only if they sound womanly....not manly.

A hot chick with a raspy voice is only hot to me depending on how she got the raspy voice.

Let it marinate.

laura prepon and and demi moore have great voices, and so does brittany murphy and i must admit they do it for me
but i also like the nice, feminin squeeky voices in some cases, either way, it's almost everytime NOT the deciding factor in a girl

apart from me, with my manly speaking dissorder of not being able to say the letter "R" :( and having a verry demi moore voice with a hint of squeeky

I'm always told that I have quite a deep voice, for a woman.

oh but what about a combination of the two . . . squeky and high pitch, AND raspy? That would give you Jennifer T1tty, errrr I mean Tilly :O

She sounds like she belongs in the 1930's.

I like the raspy voice... it sends a subliminal message that her throat needs to be lubed up. :ninja:

My voice gets raspy after some nights out, I love it. I loved T-Boz from TLC's voice growing up.

She is a real life walking, talking Betty Boop.

A raspy voice can be sexy on the right woman. It can be grating as hell on the wrong woman.

I'm not a fan of the Raspy voice on women, like Scarlett Johanssen. I want a women to sound like a woman...sometimes I like a cute girly girl voice and sometimes I like them to sound "normal" for a woman.I don't ant a woman to have a deep voice like a guy or have a voice that doesn't "fit" her.

Raspy does not mean "deep".

I got a problem with this myself.

My voice matured before I hit puberty. In 8th grade, my teachers always gave me funny looks because my voice was deeper... and I was really shy, so it was even more of a shocker.

Now I embrace it. Among the kids my age, it gives me power. :)

I didn't mean "deep" like a Barry White deep, but a woman that almost sounds like a guy.

I still wouldn't equate "raspy" with that type of voice, though. That's more of a "husky" voice. I've met plenty of women who sound like women, only their voices are raspy for whatever reasons (smoking, singing or talking too much, naturally dry voice).
