Ferrell and Reilly are Holmes and Watson

I will give it a shot. Feels exactly what it advertised itself as. Holmes from the Talledaga and Stepbros crew.

Why? Cause I didn't like the trailer?

From seeing Reilly in this and in that Laurel and Hardy movie.... Man that's some range!!

Given most of his appearances in films for over a decade now a lot of people forget he was a very well respected dramatic talent before he took on so many comedy films.

I love all of their other movies together. Talladega Nights is underrated to me(including some great work from Gary Cole). I was just struck by how obvious these jokes were. The mustache joke, the selfie, just landed with a thud to me. Maybe they are all in the context of some crazy improvised scenes that are hilarious in context like in "Stepbrothers" but this trailer is not selling it.

This looks so ridiculous.......of course I'll watch it.

You mean Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story?

I think the movie you're referencing is likely very different.

Walk Hard was ok. I think Reilly definitely is funnier when he’s with Ferrell.

I saw the poster at the theater the other day and remembered that awful trailer for it. I really hope that was just a bad trailer and the movie itself isn't terrible.

Considering all those top brit actors that chose to be in it, unless they all decided to do it for a paycheck it may not be that bad. And at this point after seeing a lot more of Reilly's work I think he's kinda also above this **** as well.

Problem is there hasn't really been a good Will Ferrell movie since Anchorman 2 which was five years ago. Plus most Will Ferrell movies that weren't directed by Adam McKay have not been good. This movie has the writer-director of Get Hard. And John C. Reilly has only worked with Will Ferrell under Adam McKay until now.

My co-worker is all excited to see this, and I just don't get it.

I had no idea there are folks who were all tired out from a Farrell & Reilly vehicle
aren't they a modern winning comedy duo?

Do we really call them modern when Step Brothers was over 10 years ago?

of this century. It's those two, the British imports (Nick Frost & Simon Pegg), and I would throw Franco & Rogen...but they've got their own troupe

Ralph Fiennes as Moriarty has me intrigued. He could easily be Moriarty in a more serious Holmes movie.

I still would have preferred a Step Brothers sequel over this.

Those other examples have worked together more frequently and recently than Ferrell/Reilly.
