This film suffered a bit because it fell on the heels of Batman Begins, which was sort of a dark horse that came out of nowhere. I don't think anyone (at least film critics) expected BB to be that good. Too many sour memories of the corny Schumaker films.

OK FF isn't in the same league as the Spider-man films, or X2, but other than that it's right up there with X1 and far above other Marvel adaptations like Hulk.

It's a fun film, and the FF were always fun. You didn't get the dark broodieness of the X-men books, they were fun to read. And the movie captured that. It had it's hands tied a bit from being an origin movie, but I think Frost's script works well. And most important, it was entertaining.

I like it better than X2 and X3.One of the best Marvel movies.

I don't care what people think anymore. F4's getting sequel and Im happy. The first one really was fun and now I want a damn good follow up story that better not be as confusing as oh....say..(as much as I LOVE my webcrawler) Spiderman 3 will be.

Yes i love it damn it! and i don't care who knows! I AM PUMPED FOR THE SEQUEL NEXT YEAR!:)

Fantastic Four was great in my opinion.

It didn't deserve all the crap it got.:down

YES I KNOW! AND YEAH I KNOW! FANTASTIC :ff: :ff: EVER! :doom: :thing: :doom: :thing:

I LOVE JESSICA ALBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was excellent, i thought they got pretty much everything right.

Accept for Doom. But i forgive it because i think it was setting up for the sequel. Doom was bad ill admit. :doom:

The movie gets far too much credit IMO, it was poor and should have been A LOT better, and to say it is better than Hulk is a joke.

Sorry, but I have tried to watch The Hulk about 3 times now and each time I doze off. I think that's why the Hulk's box office took such a steep decline after the opening while the FF held up pretty well considering its competition (War of the Worlds, Wedding Crashers and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). I think the FF found an audience while the Hulk didn't.

But Hulk is the better movie IMO, FF was really badly directed.

i saw another movie right before FF. it was Dark Water and it sucked so bad that FF was like an oscar winning movie compared to it.

What's Dark Water got to do with this? Jennifer Connelly didn't play a superhero. She made the biggest sacrifice any loving parent could make. If she did have powers she'd have lived.

Fantastic Four are superheroes. They can overcome the horrors in Dark Water. They've got the power. And their villain really does have an ax to grind.

what in the hell are you talking about?!!!!

Dark Water, starring Jennifer Connelly. That was a horror flick, not a superhero flick. Protagonists in horror flicks aren't supposed to have advantages because you'd never believe they were in peril. If they did have advantages then it's more an adventure film. In Fantastic Four the heroes have powers as an advantage. How they use them demonstrates their victory over the supervillain.

In Dark Water, the antagonist was a ghost who sought a mother figure. It only chose Connelly's character out of coincidence. But in FF, Doom attacked the heroes because he blames them for his downfall, which is in part true.

there two completely different genre of movies. i don't think you can compare them in anyway.

He was only comparing the 2 in that he saw one first, and thought it was bad, and made the next movie look good. YOU TWO are the ones that compared the 2....lol

god i hated this movie

Wow, then you are really wasting your time around here aren't ya...

The film is underrated--and overbashed.

But some of the gripes--such as the ones pertaining to Dr. Doom--do have merit worth considering. We can only hope that the studio and Marvel learn from that mistake and make drastic improvements to his sequel treatment.

You think Fox are ever going to learn? I dont.

i think that most people's pereceptions of FF are accurate. while many comic fans may defend it becasuse they like seeing the characters on the big screen, the movie was weak. it's fun for kids and fans, but if you look at it from a "film" point of view, the movie does not hold up.

I have to agree- Fantastic Four wasn't as good as the 3 X-Men films (which rank as the 3 best Marvel movies IMO... and I'm not that big a fan of the X-comics...) but it was still a very enjoyable romp. If only they had gotten Doom right....

Oh, and it beat Hulk in just about every concievable way. Hulk was just a bad movie... I mean, besides anything else I went away thinking "Wow... that was supposed to be a SUPERHERO movie? God... when Hulk 'died' I... just...didn't.... care...."

IMO the FF always had the most light hearted comics anyway. I mean seriously, what is the darkest FF storyline? Maybe Unthinkable? But even it is nowhere near as dark as Age of Apocalypse, Fearful Symmetry, etc. FF have always been the most light-hearted and personally I liked that about them. Probably my fav. super hero team. The movie was good enough.
