I think the fact that the Silver Surfer is in this one could guarantee that F4 a bigger BO than the last. In addition the crew probably have learnt from their mistakes in the first one by changing the designs of Doctor Doom. And also they have a bigger budget as well which doesn't really guanrantee a big BO(ala Superman Returns) but who knows. Discuss.

Around 175M. I don't think the first one had that great word of mouth, but the Silver Surfer will probably draw more people in.

domestic...about 135, and 300 worldwide.

It's going to make less than the first? I highly doubt that. Especally with the Silver Surfer. Something a lot of comic peopel wanna see.

200 million both ways for a 400 million total

I think it's going to make about 300 million or over because Silver Surfer with Weta computer animating him, the surprise return of Dr. DOOM with a new look, and a glimse at Galactus to set it up for the 3rd movie. Worldwide, it would make 600 million or over. This movie is going to be awesome.

silver surfer wont mean anything...the words fantastic four now turn away as many movie goers as it brings in due to ****tyness of last film

I can't make a judgement until I see the teaser.

Like MJB i think it's to soon to say but i'd be surprised if it didn't make a bit more than the first

Hmmm...last one did 329 million...DVD sales were strong,iirc.....im thinking 350 million, worldwide.

Don't hold back. Tell us how you REALLY feel. 400 WW would be a a 20 % increase over 1st film. Sounds bout right. I'll post another poll when we get about a month from opening. May 15th sounds bout right.

This one is a very tough one to call.Although the first movie did well there were a lot of people who left the theater disappointed. So there will be some apprehension from those people to shell out money to take the family to watch this.

Also you must remember that Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, Spider-Man 3 ánd Shrek The Third will all be released in the month of May. If all those movies do well -which i think they will- then their extended runs at the box office will ultimately affect FF2 as well.

A good promotional campaign and word-of-mouth are key.If thats the case then it could do 370-420 million worldwide. But thats just a wild guess, summer 2007 is packed with big-budget highly ancipated movies.:ninja:

I say 150/175 dom..125/150 international.around 300/325 total.who knows though,it could be alot more,or alot less.

150 to 200 million domestic. Probably under 175 domestic and 175-200 foreign. Total 325-400 million worldwide assuming. Not much more than that unless it's totally spectacular.

I must concur with the above. FF2 is the real dark horse for next summer. It'll be interesting to see how the box office analysts and media predict its run. There are many pros going for it--but it arguably has just as many cons. The first film has set a precedent and the franchise has a certain pedigree that I'm not certain is altogether positive.

I do have faith that FOX will market the project in a way that will appeal to the masses, but I am concerned about the quality of product. Therefore, I'm not going to cast my $$$ lot on this subject yet...it's just too early and we have nothing definite to look at. But right now, I do believe it will be at least moderately successful.

Ask me again after the trailer is released. ;)

I beg to differ. FF will be one of the suprises for 07. This one will be very attractive to the general audience. It will have more action, faster story, more intense, more eye glitter. The public likes that, look at POTC2. Not that I am saying FF 2 will make anywhere near that much. However I think a 20 % increase would be considered a suscess. So that would be, 185.6 million domestic, 210.5 million overseas. 396.1 WW. 1st X-Men made 296.2 WW. 2nd X-Men made 407.5 WW. 111.3 more or a 37.5 % increase. If FF 2 had the same increase that would be 453.9 million WW. And as with the last 1, I will have the real #'s in my signature, updated daily.

The real dark horse in 2007 is gonna be Ghost Rider. No it's not a Summer film but when it breaks Box Office records it's gonna stun some people.

Your joking right ? What box office records will it break ? Right now POTC 2 owns most of the records in movie history. Are you compairing Ghost Rider with POTC 2  . I'm all for being optomistic, but temper that optimism with a dose of reality. Ghost Rider will be 3rd behind Spider-Man, and FF 2. Better yet, give me some of what your smoking, and a swig out of that bottle. :woot: I want to see pink elephants flying too.

No I'm not joking it's gonna break Hitch's Presidents day record, set records for February, etc...I never suggested it would beat the other films. I'm talking from a "better than expected" standpoint.
