What are some good films with ensemble casts? By that, I mean where there is no clear main character, but where it's about a group of people.

Off the top of my head I can think of Serenity, though it could be argued that Mal and River were given more focus than the rest of the crew. The Thin Red Line would be one. I don't know about X-Men, Wolverine is given a lot of focus in that.

What have you guys got?

Get Shorty
Ocean's 11 & 12
The Usual Suspects
The Outsiders

The two I can think of right now would be Crash and I guess Lord of the Rings.

Short Cuts (many other Altman films are just as good as well, and he's the standard bearer for the ensemble zeitgeist)

Bully

and the greatest film of all time is pretty much an ensemble movie,
Dazed and Confused, even if Pink and Mitch are the guiding characters.

The Cannonball Run
The Cannonball Run II
Speed Zone

-D.E.B.S.

-Magnolia

-Troy

-Mortal Kombat

-Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Begins didn't have an ensemble cast. The whole movie was about Batman.

Yeah, that's why I was hesitant about putting it.

I'm gonna attempt not to repeat, but I only quickly scanned the others.

Reservoir Dogs
American Pie movies
The Breakfast Club
Porky's
Major League movies and most other sports movie
Little Miss Sunshine (coming soon)
Go
Super Troopers
Old School (small ensemble)
Dodgeball
The Village
Galaxy Quest
Tombstone
Blade 2
Blade: Trinity (sadly)

I think some people are missing the point of a ensemble cast. It's about a movie that really have no main characters and doesn't follow any one particular character. At least that's how I always looked at it.

I'm going to add to my list
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Do I have enough "mad's" in there?

Too much (there's only four).

And It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World ROCKS! It's the best ensemble comedy ever.

You're right. There are a lot of ensemble films in here, but a lot of people are posting films with obvious main characters as well.

To clarify again everyone: an ensemble film is one with no main character, but a group of people who are all given equal attention.

My wife rented it a while back and for it's age it still stands up to most comedies today.

X-Men= Wolverine and his Amazing Friends

^^^lol, which makes me wonder, whats the point in a Wolverine spin off

Ocean's Eleven
The Royal Tenenbaums
Pulp Fiction
Star Wars
Star Trek

Would you consider a movie with that follows a main group of characters (rather a main character)? Not like Magnolia or Crash, but something like Reservoir Dogs and Super Troopers.

More movies without a single protagonist:

-The Addams Family

-Addams Family Values

-Platoon

-Animal House

-the Revenge of the Nerds movies

-To Wong Fo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

-The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

-Storytelling

-Reality Bites

-The Transformers: The Movie

-Kalifornia

-G.I. Joe: The Movie

-Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie

Movies that HAVE a single protagonist, and thus should NOT be here:

-Evil Dead

-Almost Famous

-the BLADE movies (guess who's the main protagonist there?)

-Batman Begins

-True Romance

-the Alien movies (ever heard of Ellen Ripley?)

-The Village (Ivy was pretty much the main protagonist)
