Days of Future Past ** The Future can bring 'BOTH' / DOFP Producer speaks

FF reboot release date is March 6, 2015. The director is Josh Trank, who directed Chronicle (great movie btw).

A X-Men 5 movie would be great! And if done and released at the right time, it could be as big as X-Men 4: Days of Future Past! :woot:

Definately! Cyclops needs to come back though, wouldnt mind seeing Nightcrawler again either.

Also, we need to see Sinister and Apocalypse at some point.

That was another annoying thing about X3, where the hell did Kurt go? I don't necessarily have a problem with him not being there (though it was disappointing), but there was not one line of dialogue to explain where he went (that's just lazy). Would it have been so hard to take ten seconds to explain where one of the main characters in X2 disappeared to?

10 seconds? something like that could haven said easily in 4 Lol

Yes, Nightcrawler!! Such a visually interesting character. He just bamf'd into thin air never to be seen again I guess.

If Cyclops returns without having been revealed to be alive this whole time, tied up and being tested in Sinister's basement, then I will not be pleased.

I don't think audiences will buy that. I can barely buy that as a fanboy. I think maybe the Phoenix transferred itself into Scott and preserved him some how. Maybe there was something inside Jean that held the Dark Phoenix back. I think they'd have to re-enact the scene completely to fill audiences in. It could explain the stunt double if they revisit the Alkali Lake scene. Now, where was Scott the whole time since that ordeal? Well... dead, or in some catatonic state at least. But the Phoenix will resurrect him in a bodily form at some point in the future and he would be unstoppable. But this would be temporary and the Phoenix would move on to another host, so that Scott doesn't remain overpowered forever. Jean has to stay dead IMO. I don't think you can do some completely re-imagined Phoenix adaptation with this cast again without being a complete rehash. The symbol of the Phoenix can remain, but it cannot take the bodily form of Jean Grey again, until a reboot comes along.

We don't need movies like Excalibur, Genartion X.
New Mutants = X-Force
Give us this 3 movies:
X-Force/FC3 (director of KA 2) and X5: Mutant Massacre (Singer) at the same time 2016.
X6: AOA (Singer) 2018

We don't technically need ANY movies, but that doesn't mean that we don't want to see them. Kurt got tired and went back to the circus. There, I just explained Nightcrawler's absence from X3 in one sentence, why couldn't the movie do the same?

oh ****!

Movie News: Mark Millar Talks Huge Upcoming Marvel Movie

As part of our recent interview with Mark Millar, we had to ask 20th Century Fox’s Marvel consultant about X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and any upcoming Marvel pictures. Millar revealed that he hasn’t been too involved with Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and James Mangold’s THE WOLVERINE. Instead, he’s been working on something much bigger...

Millar revealed, “So I’ve been focussing on what comes next… I’ve been talking to the guys, to Josh Trank who’s doing FANTASTIC FOUR, there’s a lot of characters that come with X-Men as well, so we’re talking about expanding into other things, all building to this very cool storyline that I’ve got planned for 2016.”

There's definite hints of a crossover (possibly with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four ?), and it raises a few more tantalising possibilities. Will the now-confirmed X-Force movie come into play? Could the vast range of characters that come with the X-Men rights be expanded on and fully utilised? Whatever the answer, we're looking forward to 2016!

So.... if this is real..... Important movie on 2016 then??

:wow: :wow:

This seems to be hinting at X-Force for 2016.

Apocalypse could be in cameo at end of DOFP or pot credit scene to set up him as villain
for X-Force.

People here can complain all they want but Wolverine could be playing a key role In X-Force.Especilly If film version is cross between original X-Force and Uncanny X-Force.

I don't think Wolverine will be a major character in X-Force. Perhaps a key character but not the driving force. Think they will give the franchise to Cable and take it from there. Perhaps the X-Men return with the X-Force team for X-5, or whatever it is called, in 2018 or so. That could be the plan Millar has. I certainly don't see it including a FF crossover in the near future, regardless of who has the rights.

Having thirty or more depowered X-students get blown to bits on school buses may just get the movie an R-rating, also the attack on the school itself. Since Stryker died in X2, maybe Graydon Creed or Stephen Lang could be the one to lead the massacre.

I'm pretty sure they will push the movie to have a PG-13 rating. A R18 rating wouldn't help the movie at the box-office.

More accessible to people = more money = better for FOX executives = better for press.

True, it's just that the massacre was really disturbing in comic form. I can't imagine how shocking it would be for an audience in live-action. A teenage gets shot in the head in front of her ex-bf, that's messed up. Not to mention the bus bombings.

Would DOFP even feature scenes like that? We haven't heard a word about that.

Sorry, I was talking about a potential Mutant Massacre movie, another poster brought it up for X5, sorry for the confusion.

A Mutant Massacre movie doesn't have to feature scenes like the things you mentioned. I think I've seen some of those things in the New X-Men comic book. And the people who are killing mutants in the "Mutant Massacre" storyline were mutants too.

I'm talking about Yost/Kyle New X-Men run (which was really good btw).

Most likely is that we'll have the First Class series continuing, and an X-Force series alongside with some of the original X-Men actors (e.g. Shawn Ashmore) and some new ones.

Back when X3 came out, there was plenty of press going around where the one video game that tied into the films, X-Men: The Official Game, would bridge some of the events between X2 and X3, and that was going to address Nightcrawlers' status, which at the end of the game he decided the X-Men life wasn't for him and left, and that was the excuse they were using.

That was not the Mutant Massacre. Not even close. The MM was a crossover storyline in the comics decades ago where Sinister sent the Marauders to slaughter the Morlocks and the X-Men and a few other heroes tried to stop them.
