Final Version vs. Workprint - Official Discussion

The two Alpha Flight members that found the "wild with no memory" Logan was replaced by an elderly couple(No disrespect. I respect my elders for their wisdom and wouldn't dare think to put them in a home), plus Logan still had his memory but not his clothes(definitely for the ladies). An R-rating would've secure that Watchmen moment(s): narrow male ass yuck!

I love how...in order to explain Gambits ridiculous and nonsensical actions...people are having to invent motivations for him that are not even remotely hinted at in the film.

I love how in a desperate attempt to cling on to anything and everything they can to badmouth this movie, all that people can really come up with is meaningless, minor, petty errors that have no impact in any way what so ever on the outcome or quality of the film.

The thing that pissed me off the most was that they synced Gambit/Taylor's voice. It sounds way more real in the Workprint.

WHOA! Slow that roll! The movie is full of MAJOR, MASSIVE GAPING FLAWS. This is but one. However, if you think that characters in movies dont have to actually make sense in the context of their story, then you and I see things differently.

But really, from the horrid script, to the weak story, to the unbelievably weak characters, to the by-the-numbers fight scenes, to the lame CGI to the I could go on...

So I read that the claw effects were still s**t in the final version...thats sad.

How hard is it to use CGI for the claw effects only when it's needed?

Question for those who seen the "finished" movie...

Do the Adamantium Bullets pierce his skull, or just indent on the outside?

It wasn't clear in the workprint.

The movie is in theaters and we're still using "finished".

Trust me, its finished.

I meant "finished" along the lines of finished visual & sound FX work.

Since I'm not watching the film I have a question regarding a particular flashback.

In X1 and X2 we saw significant, violent, and dark sequences with Logan coming out of the Weapon X experiment and slaughtering everyone in his path. Obviously in X2 we saw him come out of the event bloody, claws out, and screaming in horror after massacring everyone.

In THIS film I heard
that the Weapon X procedure sucks compared to what we know since it's much lighter, there's little to no blood in the sequence. Plus it doesn't hold the same dramatic weight that the X2 scenes had. I am going to assume that this is pretty much a fact as well?
That is true now that you mention it. It only adds to the idea that Logan kidna "breezed" through the bonding proceedure more easily than he should have or was implied in X1, yes.

Yes, creed escaped, because Gambit attacked BOTH, he didn't do it to free Creed, he wanted to fight both and creed just ran, Gambit kept on fighting the guy who was left there.
Even is he saw WOlverine fighting with him, why should he believe what he said? it could still be a trap!

No ,Creed did not kidnap him.
I disagree. Why else would Gambit have recognized the name? Unless they had done work together like they had in the comics, but that wasn't given to us in the movie.

Here's what Gambit seems to be thinking..."I am going to run to the roof jump down and blow up this whole alley way because two guys who could be involved in kidnaping mutants is down there fighting..." So he does...then Creed runs off. So what...Gambit thought Wolverine was going to kidnap him. Wolverine was the one pressing in not creed. As far as we know Gambit never saw creed before in his life.
I think Gambit was pissed about the blow to the face. He was past asking the question of who was doing what to whom. He was looking for a little payback.

He probably was just thinking how cool it would be to jump down and blow everything up!
Maybe. :p

what I really wanted this final version to explain was how he got on the rooftop, a couple of seconds of Gambit sneaking out of there and climbing the freaking building would have been enough. It just felt like bad editing
Yeah, that would have been nice. They should have shown him slinking off at least.

Quit underestimating my statements!
lol...okay, really, really hated the movie a whole lot.

I honestly don't feel that the film is worthy of hate. I will be laughing when it drops like a mother in it's second weekend though.

Heres my take on the workprint vs the final version

I turd with finished FX is still a turd.

I didn't see the leaked version, but the finished copy still felt painfully choppy and out of sinc. Most of the fighting scenes just didn't make sense, if you try and keep an eye on each characters' movements, and there were plenty of times you could tell they'd sped up the camera speed so that it was painfully obvious (but slightly comical).

LMAO!

Thats why I'm not seeing the final version in theaters. The only thing that I would be getting is finished special effects and maybe a couple of different lines.

The summer movie season starts with StarTrek IMHO.

Star Trek will likely be much better than this, yes. :D

So..., my question about the bullets?

Wow Heretic, I applaud you for your patience man...the people arguing against you on Gambit seemed like they were grasping at straws...I would have just been done with them.

I recall them going into his head and you could actually see pink/red.

Technically, the whole idea was for them to actually hit his brain...which in turn means they'd have to go through his skull first to get there.

Scrambling his memory up...while the brain still heals.

But Adamantium should not pierce Adamantium... if thats true, he would cut his claws off... oh no, I've gone cross-eyed... *groan*

I hate it because there is NO REASON why a Wolverine movie cant be one of the great films from our chosen medium. It's a dumb popcorn flick that is only slghtly better in the CGI department and casting than Street Fighter or Dragonball. That is inexcusable after all the great superhero films we've seen.

I can accept Ghost Rider being bad...but Wolverine??? No. I cant accept this plot hole ridden, common sense destroying piece of garbage.
