Fine actors who don't get proper respect

That's better than nothing?

No, but it isn't really "proper respect" which is what this thread is all about.

Jeff Goldblum.
James Remar.....hey, I like him.

Keanu Reeves
Gary Oldman
James Marsden
Alexis Denisof
Amy Acker
Hugo Weaving
Bill Paxton
Jennifer Garner
Thomas Jane
Jim Carrey
Shawnee Smith
Tobin Bell
Ed Harris
Jeff Goldblum
Edward Norton

I also thought of Jim Carrey. He's still not taken seriously by many people, even after a string of really good, non-comedic films.

Ok guys,I appreciate the post and I agree with most, but you're not putting any of the performances that you think are great and proove something.Like someone put Stephen Dorff.I think he is really good and people should check out The Power of One for proof.Know what I mean?

Renne Zellwegger

She's so nice and lovable, she's my favorite actress.

I love pretty much all of her movies.

Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Michael Bien, Kurt Russell and Ron Perleman all deserve much more respect than they get.

Again<please Leave Some Choice Peformances By The Actors U Choose>

Paul Walker a "fine actor" ? ugh. That movie didn't "prove" anything except he was in a slightly new, slightly experimental kind of movie for him to be crappy in.

the fact that you're in good movies doesn't make you a good actor. I'm not saying Jim isn't a PRETTY good actor, he is. But he gets in them mostly due to the fact that he's so bankable.

I disagree I think that Jim Carey is great actor, regardless of what kind of role he's playing, be it comedy, drama, maybe not action, but he's more than a name, he's a rare talent.

I'd like to see Jim Carrey as a villain. The Riddler doesn't count, as he was written to be hyper and not a creepy intellectual madman.

Count Olaf could've been his chance to be menacing, evil, cold, and downright ruthless. And unfortunately they decided to write him as a bumbling hyperactive moron.

I like Carrey and he definitely can do it all in terms of comedy and drama. The Majestic, Truman Show, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind along with Man on the Moon are his best works. However, I'd love to see him as a villain/serial killer in some kind of movie.

Or maybe he could pull a Denzel Washington and do a role where he's just downright gritty and vicious?

none of what you state shows a disagreement with what I said, maybe I should have elaborated further. My main contention was the simple thing I first stated, being in good movies does not mean the person is a good actor. Jim is the best there is at what he's best at.

The Magestic is a horrible, offensive pile of horse$hit. There are few things more annoying than "film fans" falling for a movie with the APPEARANCE of importance despite it's said appearance so artificial and dishonest.

First name that comes to my mind is definitely Jeffrey Wright, such an amazing actor

also thinking Paul Giamatti, and also Steve Buscemi

Jennifer Coolidge.

She is a beautiful, charming lady, yet she keeps being typecast as the white trash, stupid mother.

She needs more roles like "American Pie", when she is mysterious and seductive.

Clive Owen and Steve Martin are the first ones that come to mind for me... Owen is starting to catch on, but he has had so many good roles over the years that have just been overlooked! then with Martin, people tend to slight him as a bit too kooky and "hit or miss", but the more i learn about him, the more i'm inclined to believe he's one of those rare men who is borderline on genius! neither one gets the recognition/respect they're due, IMO...
