Fine actors who don't get proper respect

Gael García Bernal is a pretty damn good actor. But i don't think barely anybodies ever heard of him.

Peter Sarasgard (sp?)=Garden State, Jarhead, Kinsey

Dicaprio doesn't get as much respect as he deserves probably due to his commercial roles in Titanic/Romeo Juliet and carrying the typical young male lead sterotype. As he gets older and loses this, people will realise how good he is.

I think that most of you people are missing the point.

These are not underrated actors.

Nor are they actors who are not mainstream.

This is more like stars and/or actors who seem to be pidgeon-holed.

Paul Walker- most of his work is mindless crap. But he does his job well.

The Rock- Works hard, but has a bad eye for scripts.

Anthony Hopkins- A guy who says on many occasions that he'd like star in more popcorn flicks. But the best Hollywood could do for him is "Bad Company". (Come on people- all of you can think of character he could have played in a comic book flick).

Alexis Bledel.

She was my favorite actress from "Sin City". Cute and nice and lovable.

Hopefully, SC will get her more starring roles.

You can be underrated even if you are already a highly rated mainstream actor. Dicaprio is given a lot more respect nowadays but still not as much as he should get. He can handle both commercial and more arty films equally well. Being pigeon-holed is one of the reasons why these guys don't get "proper" respect, not a reason to exclude them from being considered underrated actors.
