Fire and Ice live action remake by Robert Rodriguez

Having watched Guardians of The Galaxy, I think Dave Bautista could be a very solid choice for Darkwolf.

With Sin City: ADTKF just around the corner, and hopefully a hit, maybe RR will resume talking/ teasing more on Fire and Ice soon.

I was just wondering about this. Is this officially his next project after Sin City is released or has he not officially picked anything yet?

According to Rodriguez, he was originally set to tackle Fire and Ice after Sin City:ADTKF, but the Weinstein brothers told him he had to do this other project, called Nerveracker, that he owed them. After that, he'd do Fire and Ice.

I remember the middle of this movie being very dry and boring with not much happening. Wasn't Darkwolf the blonde guy's father?

...probably because 42 minutes of the script were not shot/scrapped.

Darkwolf was, supposedly, Nekron's(the villain) father.

She'd be great(as Teegra, obviously). Elena Satine would be pretty good too.

My guess is a longer movie would make it more boring for me. I think a live action would tighten a lot of this up though it's hard to see the fanbase for this or even a market for a live action fantasy

Well, who knows? For all we know, the scrapped scenes probably had more action and more character development. It's quite possible that a primary reason for not shooting them was money. It was a Ralph Bakshi project after all.;) But yeah, I expect Rodriguez to deliver something much more balanced.

If we are talking specifically "barbarian fantasy", yeah, with the exception of Conan The Barbarian(2011), which tanked, there haven't been any others made in years. However, I think it will all come down on how it is presented. I mean, look at what Rodriguez did with Sin City. To do an anthology film-noir that is in black and white and with first-person narration was definitely a "quaint" thing to do. There's also the casting that can help. Also, if Legend of Conan arrives first and is successful, that could help in a way.

After watching the first half of Season 1 of Game Of Thrones, I'm even more convinced that Lena Headey would be perfect for the role of Queen Juliana. Cast her, Rodriguez! Do it now!

She'd be great! Catherine Zeta-Jones and Milla Jovovich would be fine as well in the role.

For Nekron, I think Aaron Johnson would fit nicely.

It's very interesting how now Ralph Bakshi is involved with the project after not expressing interest in being involved a year or 2 years back. Either Rodriguez really managed to convince him or Bakshi might need more money to finish his animated project Last Days of Coney Island and/or funding to do his Wizards 2 short.

Just saw this on Deadline, awesome! Frazetta = king.

I have to rewatch the original F&I movie someday, it's been a long time.

This will look completely badass w/RR behind it.

If I don't see Genesis Rodriguez in a thong, riding a tiger... I'm going to be pissed.

If I don't see Joseph Gordon Levitt in a thong, riding a tiger, I'm going to be pissed! :argh:

Last time I looked it was available on You Tube, in case you don't have it in your DVD collection.

This is exciting, though I HOPE that Robert bring his A game, after a nearly decade of being 'meh'.

Rodriguez working with the Whiplash and Nightcrawler producers along with a studio on board sounds better than him just being left alone in his backyard studio.

I'll always hope for the best when it comes to Rodriguez. He's made some of my fav movies.
