I do not know the first movie I saw in theaters, but I do know the first one I remember. Batman Returns. Heck, I remember waiting in line.

The original Planet of the Apes. I was sitting in the back of my parents car at a drive-in and still remember to this day the impact of seeing the first ape appearance. The mute humans were moving through a field when suddenly they start running just before the reveal of the first ape shown... and it was riding a horse.

As a kid of 6 or so, the title of the movie didn't really sink in, I guess, until I saw that image.

Before then, my dad usually took my brothers and I to the drive-in. You know, pay for 2 while sneaking 3 others. Anyway, the first movie from the drive-in was a double feature with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Superman 4.

I could not tell the first movie I saw in theater but the first I have a vivid memory of was : Excalibur ( I was maybe 10 or so ).

According to my parents it was Beauty and the Beast, I was 2.

The first movie I vaguely remember seeing in the theater was Aladdin, and the first movie I remember eagerly anticipating seeing was The Lion King. I was a huge Disney fan as a kid. XD
