I can't wait to see what kind of post processing effects they'll do to his armor. Will they go slight metallica shiny? Or god-like shiny?

For some reason I thought about:

Are you implying Thor is somehow a gremlin? You seem like good people, AR... but are we gonna have a problem? :cmad:

It looks more like it's just skintight and the definition of Hemsworth's arms is showing through. But I don't know if that's actually how they achieved the effect. It could very well have some kind of anatomically correct padding as part of the armor.

Whatever combination it is, it doesn't look like metal, yet. I fully expect them to do something. But based on that photo. It looks like thin foam padding.

I'm not saying it's bad. Sorry I'm not ****ing my pants like everyone else.

I'll wait and see with the effect added.

Hemsworth mentioned that they had him in a wig. I don't think they'd make a wig that's not even shoulder-length. But you're right, the angle makes it impossible to tell. Gotta wait for more pics.

In the meantime, I just thought I'd post this for all the naysayers who will inevitable show up at some point:

Love or hate the new look, remember that we've come a long, long way from having to worry about something like that, at least. ;)

Tell me that green guys not taking a #UMP Please!

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I think it looks good, but I can see the argument for a bit of CG wizardry in post. The subtle touch-ups in this:
I suppose the costume will look more like this in the film:

look absolutely perfect to me.

Well we know where the lone "WTF, Reall? Fail" vote came from. haha

Nah, lol

I was saying how he said that little Thor's running around reminded me of little gremlins running around and multiplying.

was it confirmed that they will add an post effect to the armor?

I Don't believe it has been said officially yet, But it does seem like something that would be done, It happens on just about every other hero suit

What do you think?:awesome:

Awesomeness overload... must lie down now.

In all seriousness, Hemsworth definitely pulls off the look. My anticipation has increased ten fold just by looking at that pic.

I was just wondering the same thing.
There's always at least one nay sayer.

It's funny too because i'm more of a casual Thor fan. Growing up I didn't have the time and money to get into him as well as some other comic characters that looked really cool but I did read about him here and there. With that being said, seeing numerous pictures of Thor in the comics, they seemed to have gotten the look down.

Either it's a DC fan that gave it a 1 or one of those uber fanboys who hates it simply because it's not exactly like the suit he wanted from a specific artist. I laugh at those types of people(the latter of course).

Loki probably.

:hehe:

Nice, I just woke up to see the first official Thor pic, hell yeah!!!:awesome:

Nicely done, can't wait for the whole body pic.

I know it doesn't necessarily reflect reality, but I find it hilarious that Hemsworth's arms have more definition showing through what is supposed to be metal than Routh's did through spandex. :hehe:

I like it, granted the material doesn't look great but that's what the filmmaking process is all about.

lol its just said:csad:

OMG!!! I am sooooooo happy! They used the Copiel design, which is easily the best Thor costume ever!!!

Thor is going to b**** slap (or hammer slap.... tee hee) TDK out of the best superhero movie slot, come next May!!!!

I'm 100% sure Cap's costume is going to be the 616 now. Marvel's been 3 for 3 (4 if you count War Machine) when it comes to making the designs comic accurate.

Shoddy materials?

Tis a bit rubber. But I thought the Iron Man helmet looked plastic-y when RDJR showed it to a camera. I'm not harping, I'm glad they picked that design and I'm confident it'll look fantastic on-screen.
