First Screens Of Legion Of Superheroes

Commercials airing on Kids' WB! for next Saturday's event, Behind the Shield, provided the first moving images of the upcoming Legion of Super Heroes animated series.

The commercial refers to the lead character as "Superman" and not "Superboy."

In other Legion news:

* Writers for the first season will include David Slack, Matt Wayne and Amy Wolfram.

* Shawn Harrison is providing the voice of Timber Wolf.

What I want to know is why Brainiac-5 looks like he's barely older than the number in his name. Super'man' is clearly a teenager, and the rest of the Legion looks about the same, but Brainy looks like he just crawled out of the womb. I'll watch a few episodes to judge it (Teen Titans surprised me by not completely sucking, after all), but if Brainy has been reduced to the "lovable li'l super-genius" role, I will maim someone.

Is the FF cartoon still coming out? I hadn't heard anything about it in so long that I started hoping it was just canceled quietly.

Yeah Wizard had a big feature article on it and the designs look just as bad as these do, they added red to the F4 costumes and the Thing has the 4 spray painted on his chest. Doom looks kickass though.

Both toons may just be wasted potential.

What's up with the Fatal Five? I love Tharok, but even in the comics, the question remains as to how those clothes stay on.
And the Persuader and Validus look like garbage. Good job on EE and Mano, but that's hardly any consolation.

And again, they've excluded several of the good Legionairres. No Triplicate Girl (why even bother with Bouncing Boy with no Triplicate Girl?), no Element Lad, no Ultra Boy, and no Sun Boy...

We're looking at a low-rent Wolverine knockoff, an anti-superman creation working with Superboy... Knowing me, I'll definately give the series a chance. But I'm still put off.
