Folsom Prison Blues

Here in Oklahoma people have gone to jail longer for pot than some people have for rape.

Here in America some people have gone to jail longer for doing NOTHING than for KILLING people. An unfortunate aspect of the system.

Welcome back Franklin aka Petunia, come a little closer and I'll welcome you properly ;)

Good to know you are out Frank and I feel bad you got caught up in such a mess. I hope things will brighten up.

Thanks Mazda. I haven't traveled to the great locations you have, but you haven't visited the Collin Co. Correctional Facility either.

I'm really sorry bout the Contest of Marvels. You guys lemme know if I can help.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

**** man. You actually had to spend time behind the door for a ****ing quarter of weed? WTF?!?! I hope you didn't actually give them any money? I would of told em to poke it.

Seriously, I can't ****ing believe it. You have nutters running around with guns in America. But get caught with 7 grams of cannabis and you do time? That is a ****ing piss take.

Got to say I agree. To most cops over here a little weed for self consumption isn't even worth the paperwork and processing they have to do to lock someone up. You definetley wouldn't be looking at a two months jail sentance.

Yea, they'd probably take it off ya and give it to their mates or sell it or smoke it themselves.

We have the Reagan administration to thank for the War on Drugs.

We also have the media to thank for continuing the narrative about how drug use supports terrorism and drug cartels.

Sometimes, I wish this country would do its research before it votes. But, since 18% of Americans still believe the sun revolves around the earth, I doubt that will ever happen.

The sad thing is, even if states start to legalize or decriminalize marijuana, the federal government can still charge people with committing a federal crime. So California and Massachusetts can have its weed and smoke it, but they still aren't out of the woods as far as criminal prosecution goes.

Meanwhile, child molesters and attempted murderers have received straight probation for their crimes. This is America, where fortune and privilege gets you a slap on the wrist and personal decisions about your own body, your minority status, and poor finances land you in the slammer.

Great to see you are back and doing better, Franklin. I have friends who are on both sides of the fence. Some believe drugs are evil, and others who partake in them occassionally...and, usually just MJ. (One of my oldest friends is the guy who's the top spokesman for the legalization of pot; he even recently got a free ticket and plane/hotel fair to go to the Playboy Mansion. He's also the guy who is in charge of HempFest in Seattle this weekend.)

Personally, I've smoked pot in the past. I don't do it now, simply because I have children. I don't think I should be on drugs when I am caring for them...and, it's rare that I'm not taking care of them...or am at work.

I think pot should be legalized. There are much worse things out there that are more dangerous for your health...and, the health of others. (Booze and cigarettes) I think it could only help the economy; and, it would help get rid of a large part of the criminal community if it was regulated.
