Last I read,.. she was in the Black Panther books Prior to the Vibranium "meltdown" with Doom.

Neat, a thread about Photon. One of my favorite, less appreciated Avengers.

I actually saw a preview image for an "Avengers" arc sometime after "Fear Itself" that had her in action with Ms. Marvel and Protector, so, while I'm dreading the idea of Bendis writing her, at least she might make some appearances again. Last I saw her before this was a cameo in "Fall of the Hulks", as part of an impromptu group Hank Pym got together to fight the Red Hulk.

that's good - that she will be making an apperance

Monica is alpha female - powered on a level i only put maybe five marvel females at,... and she has been ignored or poorly written.

I'd expect her to beat most Marvel heroes who were NOT ready for her. and a large portion even if they had prep-time.

She has access to the full freakin EMF spectrum,.. you can't stop her, a "force field" that is transparent in ANY WAY to show you that you have her is an open door for her.

She can laze, fry, cook, and sau'te everyone up to the Silver surfer,...

Invulnerable in energy form,... meh,... I could go on.

On the personal side,... No one in Marvel has touched on her reaction to the death of Brother Voo Doo. They were in the middle of a relationship the last I read,.. He being one of the few men to get her attention.

I agree- she IS underused. Given the routine characterisation of black women esp in movies as "maids, hookers or best friends", she is one of the few African American super heroines(next to Storm of the X-Men), who is well rounded- she is an intelligent, compassionate woman as well.
