Forever was like Begins.

batman returns is an easy to watch, entertaining and generally great movie!

Damn, I'm in Canada.. :(

any weapons in mind? just for curiosity sake, i only teach:

Kama, katana(and wakazashi and tanto), sai's, bo, jo, chinese broadsword, southern sabre, straight blade(either 28" or 32"), nanchaku, bo shuriken, hachet(s), bokken, tai chi sword, wing chun butterfly knives, meridian axes.

I do practie with a 9 sectional metal whip, but I'm not very good, mainly just hurt myself.

Butterfly knives and Tai Chi swords.

tai chi is the hardest as you need to know a load of tai chi before you even pick up a sword, it's very rewarding though. Personally, My fav is the kama's

Interesting comparison. I would agree. Returns was quite odd and needed Forever to return the franchise to bankability and popularity. Begins did the same after the debacle called Batman and Robin.

Forever was like a mild coffee stain on an already clean, perfect piece of paper. Batman & Robin was like someone dumped the entire pot of coffee on the paper, balled it up, and shoved it up Rosie O'Donnells ass.

I would have loved to see Burton finish his trilogy. :csad:

I know one guy who wouldn't *Points to self.*

Enjoy your luck *points to you*:

OK, so you wouldn't want Burton finish his trilogy and then restart with Batman Begins anyway? Unless you did like Schumacer's mardi gras?

No, because if Burton finished his trilogy.. it probably wouldn't be a Trilogy they'd do the SUPERMAN thing and just keep pumping out sequels... Did you guys read Schumacer's ideas for Batman Triumphant? But anyways.. Burton's movies took to many liberties, yes they were entertaining but sooner or later Batman would have killed every villian in Gotham they'd have to restart.. I bet Burton's third movie would have stared Mr. Freeze as a demented abused Inuit Child, who after becoming afiliated with evil magic got the power to freeze people with his mind.. of course his lair would have looked like a gothic manor made of Ice.. Look, I'm ranting now..

I'm curious as to what you've been smoking>?

I think the potential was there for Batman Forever to be a really good film if you think about it. Had Two-Face been the main villain, and not played with so much camp, it'd be easy to see Bruce reflecting on his parents as something brought on by Two-Face, Bruce reminding himself of why he became Batman. I loved the scenes with Bruce remembering his parents' funeral, and I liked that they including his falling into the cave with the bats, as that's been such an iconic moment for the character. But there's just too much random idiocy with The Riddler, and everything else about the film.

I'll agree, the killer penguins of Batman Returns were pretty silly, but the whole film doesn't go overboard the way Forever does. Furthermore, Batman doesn't have to save a girl at the end who ultimately discoveres he's batman, at least not in the traditional sense. In the case of Batman Returns, it was a lot more psychological in how it presented Bruce and Selina's relationship. Not to mention the great moment before Batman stops the Red Triangle Gang and he's just sitting in his study in the dark, before the signal shines through. And I always liked that he shows up at Max's masquerade ball without a physical mask, because him as Bruce Wayne IS his mask. Bruce and Selina end up revealing themselves to each other, I think, because they're subconsciously thinking about each other's costumed identities. Bruce is thinking about Catwoman while Selina is thinking about Batman, and that's why they say those things to each other. It's my favorite "reveal-by-dialogue" of any movie, and a lot more realistic than the one in Batman Begins. Rachel asks batman who he is (which is a dumb question to ask of a man WEARING A MASK!!), and Batman responds with that tripe dialogue she spat at him as Bruce:"It's not who I am underneath, it's what I do that defines me". HUH?!?! The beauty of the reveal-by-dialogue in Batman Returns is that the comments they make to each other are so trivial, in addition to realizing they've heard them from each other.

Naw, if anything, Burton would have done Freeze right, but just make him really vicious. Burton 'digs' tragic characters, and aside from upping the viciousness (Which he loves to do for villains), Freeze would have been dead-on, because it's right up his alley. All of the Batman villains are, in one way or another, except the Penguin. And I think that says something about just how dull the Penguin used to be in the comics. Only now, with him as a crime boss, is he interesting.

Yeah, look at, say, Edward Scissorhands and look at Mr. Freeze, or at least the way he was done in the animated series. Burton would have nailed the character.
