So D&D 4.0 jumped the Forgotten Realm setting a hundred years so does that mean they did the same with the novels? I have been away from reading the novels for a while and was wondering since i picked up the 4.0 books off a website recently.

wow, thanks for the wiki page but that doesn't answer the question. I wanted to know if they jumped the novels a hundred years also and if so what they were. I want t learn about the spellplague that they talk about in the 4.0 books.

Well I was going to look it up until I saw that there seems to be like 100 books, & considering I have no idea where to start. I figured you would know what to look for. That is why I posted that link.

It wasn't an attack on you. Thank you for a link it was very helpful. I am just sorta overwhelmed is all. I just figured witheveryone on these boards I could find an answer. But is my luck when I ask a question on here I get no responces t ell I become a jerk and then end up hurting someones feeling whne they try to help. Again I am so sorry.

Its cool man. You might try calling a game shop that sells that DND stuff. They might know whats what.

A lot of people go gaga over R.A. Salvatore's books: The Legend of Drizzt, The Sellswords, and The Cleric Quintet. I started with Salvatore's first Drizzt book, Homeland. I've never played DnD, and never once did Salvatore's narrative loose me. It was a pretty good read, too. In my top 3 for sure out of the six I've read.

I will say this about Salvatore: He can write a good plot, and his fight scenes are very fluid. However, he likes to have a lot of them in there. When they relate to the plot, its all fine. In one of the later Drizzt books--The Halfling's Gem--I found myself skipping fight scenes. There were a lot toward the end. So he's kind of a mixed bag. But definitely go for Homeland, Exile, and Sojourn.

Erevis Cale trilogy by Paul Kemp is another set that I've seen good reviews for. However, I haven't read any of them yet.
