The beginning of Marvel Knights is pretty good. Kinda psychological too while May's been kidnapped. Its also essential if you wanna find out whats going on with Venom (and who honestly doesn't)?

I might get slated for this, but I think the Toxin series is kinda KINDA gritty. It has the psychological edge you can only get from having a psychotic symbiote bonded to you and trying to teach it morals. Its pretty good to see how Toxin changes too, how he differs from his dad and grandad (the scene where he breaks a laptop then steals another to replace it is pretty cute too)
