Infinity War Fortunately, I Am Mighty - The Thor Thread!

That "weapon quest" must have a big payback down the line. Either in IW or A4.
I predict that Thor will make some serious damage with that thing.

Thor and his team are going to be owned when faced by Thanos and his crew. Thor then realizes that he needs a powerful enough weapon capable of augmenting his own already impressive capabilities. In Ragnarok we see Thor using normal asgardian swords while in Beast Mode.

One thing is to punch someone really hard. The other is to use a blunt weapon against someone. Add the lighting power to it and we have an even more formidable warrior.

How come he has TWO eyes in that GIF?

Maybe it is needed to destroy the gauntlet.

I think so too. From everything we have heard about his arc in this movie so far it sounds like his story line with the guardians is going to be more about him getting revenge against Thanos for the[BLACKOUT] deaths of his people on that Asgardian ship[/BLACKOUT]. I am very interested to see how the Russo's handle it since it is a significant departure from what we got in Ragnarok.

Makes sense. There must be a big reason why Thor and his little buddies are going on this separate mission while everyone else is in one of 2 super-important locations - either on Thanos-hunt or Wakanda-defence duty.

Also, if anyone knows about the Infinity Stones and how threatening they can be, it's Thor (who learned from his visions) and the Guardians (who learned from The Collector). And both will also be familiar with Thanos by the time they meet each other.

Yeah, these are the guys who would be most aware. Cosmic bros!

Beast Mode Thor could help turn things around in either IW or Avenger 4. Doubt Thanos accounted for such an improvement from him. Beast Mode Thor, enraged Hulk and Binary Cap Marvel all on the front lines!

Thor didn't get that much of a boost that will make a danger to Thanos. He just unlocked powers already in him, he doesn't have the Odinforce or something. From the d23 trailer it looks like Thanos has no problem owning him.

That was a joke. No one is going toe to toe with Thanos alone, but as a team they will have a boosted Thor, Hulk, Cap Marvel and Vision to absorb some of his worst hits and provide protection for the likes of glass cannons Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch to attack. Plus Thor along with his new weapon I think will play a part in destroying the gauntlet, that is if it gets destroyed.

Chris's accent's never been all that good, to be fair, he's just not that great an actor.

It's fine though, it's in the ballpark.

He's a great Thor that's all I care about.

Yeah, it's fine. He pretty much sucks in most of his non-Thor roles, but that's okay. He nails the big dumb affable jock with a heart of gold vibe.

Let him go Thor full time then. :woot:

Look at Thor's new outfit via the toyline.

Looks like the Vanity Fair look.
All black suit with some brown stripes, 6 disks on the armour, black scaled armour for the arms, red cape... So i guess that's really his new look. The black armored scales i suspect will appear when he finally wields his new weapon or he decided to armour up the hole body when facing Thanos forces for the second time.

I was hoping we were done with the sleeves, the visual of Chris's rippling muscles vs a plain uniform sleeve shouldn't even be a question IMO.

That wooden handle looks so stupid.
Some toys aren't a good indicator of the best way things can look. Normally they just look weird and cheap. But i have to agree that i am not digging that handle with these earlier sneak peaks. The overall look of the weapon i am still a bit unsure about it... Need to see some more detailed and good looks at it to give my final verdict.

Having sad that i saw a small toy with Thor's new look and the new weapon... It looked freaking cool. Badass. It really worked well for me.
Now i just gotta see the real deal. Either in the trailer or the movie to be totally convinced.

Of all the Thor looks, the "roadworn" look from Ragnarok was one of my favorites. It felt very warrior like, with the black/brown leather, the "stripes", belt... I also liked how the cape flowed better from the shoulders to the back. A viking warrior kind of vibe to it.

The Age of Ultron looks was also pretty cool. Definitely a more traditional approach.

I'm typically not one of those "WHERE IS THE HELMET" people, but a helmet designed to go with that dark outfit, along with the eyepatch, would look dope AF.

Judging from this figure:

It looks like [BLACKOUT]Thor gets his eye back in this after all.[/BLACKOUT]

I like the AOU suit but without the sleeves. Actually, in general I don't like sleeves on Thor.

I still think it's just a toy thing. That'd be a weird thing to just spoil across the board, while also making the event pointless in Ragnarok. If anything, he might just take off the eyepatch and rock the scarred eye look.

I still think the missing eye patch thing is them trying to avoid toy spoilers as well, but is Thor really going to be wearing like 2 different costumes in this? I wasn't sure before, but it does seem that way.

The sleeveless armor in Thor: Dark World and the "road worn" armor are my favorite Thor outfits in the MCU.
