I take it that the demonic spirit in this new series is the same one from the original?
There are 2 or 3 demonic spirits so far. The one in Casey, and the one in the homeless lady. And the old creeper guy with Casey may be a separate demon that is watching over Casey's possession but is not actually the demon that is inside her.
I'm willing to bet tho that Pazuzu is involved somehow.
Hope the ratings are at least consistent with last week tonight. I doubt it gets renewed past this season, but I at least would like it to play out, rather than get snatched off a few episodes in.
Absolutely LIVING for that twist, if for no other reason than to explain why [blackout]Angela so easily jumped to "My daughter needs an exorcism" at the start of the series, when everything was pretty low-key at that point.
Of course possession is her first thought.... she already experienced it herself[/blackout].
Then of course, there is the fact that it means that [blackout]the events of the film are no longer just some other event that took place in a different location, at a different time. There's actually a direct line between the film and the show.[/blackout]
Yeah, that twist totally caught me by surprise. And it makes complete sense. I love that the movie is now integral to the plot (though I'm assuming the sequels are out, though I am curious about the second novel). I love it. And now Chris McNeil returns next episode. And I hope we get more of those past segments that show how she tried to use Regan/Angela for gain after that experience. The only bad thing about it is that now, Linda Blair can't return as Regan. And now I understand who the "she" the demon really wants.
Was a bit worried that Henry might've been possessed, but I'm guessing that Casey just said her real name. And the makeup of full possessed Casey was great, and I'm loving her possessed voice.
Now, just get me more of the classic theme.
