FOX's The Exorcist

Goddammit, yeah, this is giving me Poltergeist remake vibes. I suppose there's always the hope that they're holding off on giving away their big scares or that it'll get better after the pilot, but ehhh. :o

Yeah I'll be sticking with the classic film.

I actually liked the Poltergeist remake. Its not scary but neither is the original and I liked the new cast and vfx.

Say what you will about this teaser, and it looks pretty average...but when that score kicks in, I still can't help but be a little intrigued. Tubular Bells is one of my all time favorite songs used a film. It's such a hauntingly beautiful song, and it fits the original film so well.

Tell that to Zelda Rubinstein talking about the beast having control over Carol Anne, motherf***er! :argh:

At least the Poltergeist remake had Sam Rockwell doing his fun quirky routine. This show just looks bland.

I have an odd feeling that there will be a twist that the mom is possessed. If you watch the trailer - nobody but the Mom suspects that the daughter is acting strange. The Mom is the only one hearing voices and the weird things that happen are shown only to be happening around her character. Sometimes possessed people don't even know they are possessed, they rather become magnets for paranormal activity. I could be wrong, but everything they showed in the trailer seemed to be connected way more to the mom alone than to the daughter. What the film shows is one form of possession, but there are many different forms that demonic possession can take on. Here it seems the demon has latched onto the mother and it's aiming is making her weaker to open her up to be in the classical terms possessed.

Looks like they exorcised everything that made the original film great.

@JarettSays there are some cliches, but the approach is surprisingly not Fox-ish. And the end is A+
Wouldn't be the first time a new show got a s***ty trailer, but I guess we'll wait and see.

Also, Alan Ruck will be a series regular

After watching Sense8 in full, my undying devotion to Alfonso Herrera has persuaded me to watch every episode this show produces, sight unseen.

Premieres tonight.

I put it on my Dvr, I'll watch it after so I can skip the commercials. :p

I liked it a lot.
I was bored by the first trailer and I didn't really follow anything about the show after that.
Actually completely forgot about it until a couple days ago when a friend mentioned it.:funny:
Glad I gave it a chance.
Excited for more.

Yeah, it was good for an opener. But then do was the first The Following and that show went off the rails quick. :p Hopefully this won't do that.

Fox will mishandle this, rearrange the episode order, and kill it.

I thought it was decent. Not nearly as incompetently handled as a lot of these things tend to be, but I wish they would've cranked up the creepy factor a bit. I wanted more dread and less slight unease. I feel like they've laid some decent character work though.

So this did horrible in ratings. Like 2.3mill

By whose standards? By CBS? Yeah, that number would be pretty horrible. By everything else on FOX this week other than Empire? No, not really.

****, it did .1 point less in the demo that Pitch did, and that had actual hype behind it and a night that people are actually expected to be watching TV.

It also looks like it did closer to 2.9 mil.

If this was on the CW, it would be a breakout hit

The pilot was better than the trailer made the show look.

The English priest seems like a interesting character and Latino Justin Theroux was alright.
