Frank Cho replaced already?

Cho is pretty much the reason I'm getting this.:cmad::down

I'll still keep picking up Mighty Avengers as long as the art is good, Yes fill-ins suck, but it happens. The art may change but the story will still be the same, so as long as the art is good, its all good to me.

Angel Medina, how do I say this, is not good.

Yeah, looking at his art, the word yuck comes to mind.

Fill-ins suck. Period. Marvel knows this, no matter what they might say, they know this. Look at Civil War.

...but you do post links that answer your own thread topic questions.....

You realize thats the title of the article I linked to right? And that I just copied and pasted the title correct?:o

No, no I didn't.....

Look over there!!!

(runs away in shame, tail 'tween legs)

I dont think his art is bad, it's not great, but its not bad. They should get somebody better for a fill in but, I'll still buy it so, it really doesnt matter to me.

Angel Medina is like a Todd MacFarlane clone only on shrooms and meth and a palsyed hand and tuerets syndrome. His art is truly fugly.

Wow. Medina's art isn't even similar to Cho's. They (usually) at least try to get like-styled artists for fill-ins.

And yes, Angel sucks.

So Cho has had a 9 month head start and he's only up to issue #3. Gezz. I'm sensing delays already.

Also from Jinxworld

oy yoyyoy. take a deep breath.

first off a lot of you originally discovered me off of sam and twitch... which angel drew. so this reunion is a big deal for both of us.

while angel is drawing issue 7, which has been written for him, frank will be drawing issue 10 which is a very big story that frank and i have been working on and to have the same quality that we've had in the first six issues and this is the best way to do it.

this is not an alien invasion story, i think they misheard him. i don't even know what that is in reference to.

team books of this quality are an intense amount of work. an issue takes 6-8 weeks to produce from even the most professional artist. there is no short cuts or tricks. its large scale rendering of the highest quality.

yu is already into the second arc of our run. no fill ins.

feel free to cut and paste this anywhere you see the subject posted.

Not unexpected for me. I didn't expect Cho to continue beyond one arc without a break. I mean, few artists do more than 6 issues anyway these days without delays, and some even with. I'm not a fan of Angel's work, and the fact that it reportedly will deal with

a symbiote invasion

reaks of mid 90's stories that basically dealt with the same thing. Ugh.

But to be fair, at least Marvel is being upfront about this. Sort of.

If Cho is only up to issue #3, he seems on pace with Finch, who launched NEW AVENGERS and quickly fell into delays around issue two or so (and continues to make MOON KNIGHT an unofficial bimonthly, which will hurt that book if it now wants to tie into CW). At least issues #1 and #2 should ship okay and then hopefully by then Cho can crank out #3 and whatever issues he needs for his first arc. But, yeah, Cho or any launching artist bailing after the first arc is not uncommon, so I won't raise a fuss. I was iffy on getting this book anyway, seeing how Bendis is with NEW AVENGERS (a book that has characters he "loves").

To be fair, Moon Knight isnt a direct tie-in, its a Casualties of War thing a ma bob, which I really have no clue whats that is supposed to mean, but yeah, Finch is off the book next issue anyway, or is #8 the last one? I forget.

It's the same as decimation for House of M, it's the aftermath of Civil War.

I don't know which issue is his last. The artist coming in looks good.

"Casualties of War" I see as pretty much a cover-all for any book to do a tie-in with CW in which the exact timing is shakey and Marvel doesn't deam it an "essential" tie in that is included as a story chapter, but more like a "side story". Which for some of them is a little bizarre as I felt the Iron Man/Cap story was ESSENTIAL CW reading, even if a bit late in the game. Basically, if you just want to do a story and then have said character either "react" to CW or have Cap or Iron Man try to recruit for a few pages, it's a "CoW" tie in. If it basically is another chapter of the CW story from page 1 to 22, it is a "CW tie in proper".

Again, this is shakey, because CW: X-MEN was considered a "core" CW tie in by virtue of, duh, being the X-Men, the general story was essentially a sequal to THE 198 and had very little to do with CW. Like any crossover, some tie-ins are more "essential" and enjoyable than others, so it is a fan's gamble to pick and choose which.

Basically: "CoW" = If you happen to be a regular on this book, here is your character reacting to the event

"CW" = essential chapter in our 42+ part story that will be referenced at any time.

The distintion of which stories are billed as which will again be a little haphazard in some ways.

Anyway, not surprised on the Cho situation.
