Free Guy | Disney

I'll watch just for Jodie Comer.

So the Office, Player Number One and Deadpool in the mix? I didnt even smile while watching a Trailer.
Real stretch to try and compare this movie to other properties
Looks decent enough, but I think I'm maybe a little tired of Reynold's shtick, so I doubt I will rush out to see this film.
I would like to see him mix it up more. I think the last time I saw him doing something a bit different was in Life.

Eh, this did feel like an adult Rated R version of Ready Player One, and I mean that in the best possible way. RPO was ok. Hopefully a bit more Hardcore Henry sprinkled in, we might get some good spaghetti. I'm sure there are various different recipes but tis all the same, still good tho.

Yeah. And while this looks perfectly fine, I think I would love to see a more Black Mirroresque (but not quite) take on this same premise, with the same cast. Instead this just reminded me of Pixels, but with Fortnite for the Gen Z audience :o

But yeah, I wasn't aware this was a Disney film, and the best part of the trailer is the intro where they roast Disney :funny:

I hate this so much.
F*cking Disney.

So he’s basically playing Emmett from LEGO Movie?

How is this Ready Player One at all?

Looks kind of fun. Not over the moon about it though. I guess i would rate the trailer a 7 out of 10.
The concept is fun and there are some cool and inspired visuals. The humor was alright but i agree that the RR "shtick" is kind of overstaying its welcome a bit.

Shrugs, I got Ready Player One and Deadpool vibes combined, and that was awesome. Now, if you still feel ill about it, I no longer meet folks to fight at a popeyes parkinglot, so I don't what you'll do.

:o

I think the live action aspect is what brings Ready Player One more to mind.

I mean notnhing about this reminds me of Ready Player One. Other than both movies involve video games. But that's kinda like saying Shazam is like Iron Man because they both are about superheroes
One is a movie about a normal guy going playing a VR video game
One is about a guy realizing he's a character in a video game and acting accordingly.

The visuals aren't the same either....

Count me in as one of those who are getting a little tired of Reynolds schtick as well. I was never as crazy about it as most people were to begin with though. Still looking forward to this, I think it'll be a fun time at the movies and I like the cast.

This premise had tons of potential, but nothing here looks like they’re taking full advantage of it. Disappointing to say the least.

Was the first minute just "The Lego Movie" in live-action? Seriously. It was just like Emmett walking up.

Looks like a light Ready Player One and in a bad way. It looks bad. And at this point, Ryan Reynolds is just being himself in his recent movies.

Ryan Reynolds has always been himself in movies. With a few exceptions like Buried, The Nines, Life. So I dont understand why it's annoying people now. People thought his style was played out after Green Lantern, then Deadpool saved his career.

With that said... this doesn't seem like the normal Reynolds schtick. He seems more innocent and naive here. Whereas usually hes more sardonic and cynical... in a man child kinda way.

I think this looks pretty awesome. Visually it looks cool. And it has a great cast.

Yup, he isn't playing the sardonic know-it-all here.
So aside from "it's a comedy" (well, duh!) I don't get the "schtick" comments.

Yeah it was overkill in Hobbs and Shaw. He can be funny but lately he’s just too annoying.

I hated him there.

This movie looks fun, though. Cool concept and the action looks great.

One day somebody is gonna come up with the bright idea to pair him and Kevin Hart in a movie together at the same time and it's gonna be just erratic as ****. I was surprised they didn't put them together in Shaw and Hobbs.

Kevin Hart is incredibly obnoxious. Also the extent to which Hart only plays Hart makes Ryan Reynolds' range look tremendous.

The fact that they've mutally agreed to gaslight the world into forgetting Green Lantern ever happened is incredible. They're great together. (I'd love to see Taika as Wadsworth in Reynolds' new Clue movie)

Hold up... Is there a new Clue movie in development??
