What would you adapt into a movie? Why? How? Who would you cast?

Me, I would like to adapt the Where's Waldo books. It's a underrated franchise waiting to be tapped. It wouldn't stick 100% to the origin of the original Waldo, but will still have the same clothes and would have appearances by Wilma, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard, Woof, and Odlaw.

The movie would be called: Codename: WALDO

Synopsis:

American Government Agent Stephen Waldo (Matt Damon) discovers that the vice-President (Ken Jenkins) is part of a seceret underground World Government that has made the ultimate weapon they plan on using to take over the world: The Magic Walking Stick. Which is able to travel anywhere and anytime in a instant, and is able to level cities in a instant. After Waldo steals The Magic Walking Stick, he is now a wanted dead or alive by the Unitied States Government for treason, sadition and terrorism. Not knowing how to use the Walking Stick, Waldo is stuck in the United States with rival Government Agent Derek Odlaw(Bruce Campbell) hot on his trail. It's an action packed thriller of Bourne Identity perportions!

Fan Fiction and Film thread...

It can stay here...a mod will move it sooner or later. As for this thread...I will contribute when I bring my thoughts together on my fan film.

I would adapt the Bible into a series of adult movies. If I'm going down for doing porn, I'm going down swinging.

I think there's an Adam and Eve porno out there somewhere.

Superman...just cause no one else has done it right yet, in live action at least.

I would do a film on only Batman and Jokers collective boners. The Joker showed me the light, and no matter what, if Ledger or Bale doesnt say ***** in TDK, its a failure.

A Spider-Man film featuring The Scorpion. I think there's an interesting parallel to be had in the arachnid-themed adversaries that would be different (and more compelling) than Venom in Spidey 3. Plus, I'd use Rhino in an opening scene.

I'd also love to do Sleepwalker or Darkhawk.

at this point, the main reason I buy the Batman trades that have every Batman story ever in chronological order, is because I know one day I'll buy the new volume, open it up, and see there, on the contents page..."Batman's Greatest *****" staring at me. And at that moment, I will finally know pure happiness.

I love to adapt Batman because although I like BB it wasn't what I wanted.

I'd like to do Dampyr. It's great Italian vampire comic from Bonelli Comics. It's about Dhampir called Harlan Draka who hunts down vampires with the aid from vampire Tesla and human mercenarie Kurjak.

My ideal cast:
Harlan Draka - Goran Visnjic
Kurjak - Billy Bob Thornton or Tommi Korpela
Tesla - This one I don't know yet. She reminds me of Swith from The Matrix, so maybe Belinda McClory.

I'd also like to do R rated Batman movie(s) from the Elseworlds trilogy where Batman turns into vampire.

Batman: Black & White would be also cool idea to translate into screen. Director's/writers could either adapt stories from the B:B&W comics or create their own. I'd like to see Burton & Keaton to reunite for one short. Bruce V. Timm and Kevin Conroy could do a animated one too. And of course Nolan/Bale duo. Imagine someone like Tarantino or Eastwood making a Batman shortie. Rodriguez would be ideal choice (hence Sin City).

Hugo Pratt's Ann y Dan (Anna and Dan) has been in my mind also. It might work better as a miniseries with Band of Brothers budget. Ewan McGregor would suit one of the roles.

Super Mario Brothers-I suppose you could call it a reinvention of the series, if you call 1 guilty pleasure movie a series. Computer generation akin to Advent Children would most likely be the preferrable medium. Live action might be possible. Of course the characters would need to be redesigned to appear more realistic. However, you would still have Toad, Peach Toadstool, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser Koopa, etcetera. No redesigns as drastic as the original Super Mario Brothers film.

And yes, there would be a coherent storyline.

This artwork is not my own, but it is similar to how I would adapt King Koopa's appearance:

A brilliant work, credit goes to ~psi-yamaneko.

In the games, King Koopa's design is based off of a youkai from Japanese folklore that is half turtle, half dragon. Obviously the work above accentuates the dragon half moreso than the turtle half. Still, a great drawing.

Tom Clancy's Without Remorse, I'd set it in modern day, take out the special ops military thing, just focused on Kelly/Clark's revenge. It would be a hard R-Rating, a real old school revenge movie feel, no flashy special effects or elaborate stunts, just this one man hell bent on revenge.

Halo.....Never played the games but read a novel.
