Free Guy | Disney

We are 10 minutes into Free Guy. It is literally The Lego Movie. :lmao:

Watched Free Guy last night. Loved it. Easily my favorite movie of the year so far.

Was watching this but couldnt get through it, i have set the film off.

The humor is so stupid, just not good.

Nice behind the scenes in the making the Guy Vs Dude fight

I was pretty disappointed. I didn't expect it to be amazing or anything but almost all jokes fell completely flat and a comedy that isn't funny is just painful to sit through. :/

It was fun, I thought, but also really stupid. I had higher hopes for the film I know that much, and Ryan Reynolds is practically playing himself (again?)

There were a few laugh out loud moments for me, but as a whole I don't think this is a film I'll be rewatching anytime soon.

Anyone know if Free Guy will going to Disney+ anytime soon?

It's a Fox movie Disney inherited. It'll go to HBO first 6 - 9 months after release to fulfill contractual obligations then likely Disney+ like New Mutants did. Seems like a given it will, but I don't know how Disney determines what Fox movies land or don't on D+.

I'm glad Ryan Reynolds's career has skyrocketed after Deadpool 1. He was in trouble after Green Lantern.

Shame folks are getting tired of his schtick. I think he's an entertaining guy and he knows where his wheelhouse is although he's shown some pretty stout range (Buried, Amityville, the Nines).

I watched this and thought it was alright. Decent and harmless fun.

Interesting way of showing the world of gaming with some fun nods throughout. Jodie Comer was the big standout, Ryan Reynolds was doing his thing and everyone else was ok. The very end worked really well.

6.5 out of 10

Rented this. The first half hour was a drag. It felt way too much Lego Movie but live action with a bit of Truman Show mixed in. But once Guy finds out he’s a NPC and decides to help, it does improve a lot. The ending was lame though with the idea people would “play” a video game where they just watch NPCs.

Watched this again and it really stood up to repeat viewing. Can’t wait to see what they do with the sequel.

And Taika Waititi might be a talented director, but I don't think he should ever be allowed in front of a camera again.

Glad someone else said it (though I don't like him as a Director either)... Outside of him I liked this movie well enough... It's a good solid action comedy, bit cheesy at points but nothing too cringeworthy... Not sure if it needs a sequel but it's getting one and it's another vehicle for Reynolds, which I can get behind pretty much anything he does.

It's a fun movie, the concept has similarities to a few other movies but it's a lighthearted slice of entertainment with likable leads and some decent action, the Marvel and Star Wars homages were nicely done.
