Ok, why the **** are there people dog-piling on Free Guy for no reason on Twitter? The movie was great. The hell's the problem? I swear if these are the same *******s who jumped on Chris Pratt over nothing doing the same to Ryan Reynolds, I'm gonna be VERY pissed.

Sorry for all the swearing, but the movie's only trending right now due to people being jerks towards it for some reason. And the new Matrix is being used as comparison.

Just saw this. Loved it! Reynolds was great and Jodie Comer was fantastic; she balanced out being a badass superhero character and a nerdy programmer really well. I also really enjoyed the little nods to real-life MMO games (“when you awake from your standing coma” lol).

When I think about the main plot, it’s basically the movie that Tron Legacy SHOULD have been. The concept is nearly identical but it’s amazing how much of a difference better dialogue can make. Free Guy might have been a bit derivative in that regard but I’ll give it a pass since it was such a better movie.

Watched it for the first time, last night. Really enjoyed it. Aspects of all the usual 'game related into reality' films, bit's of Tron, Ready Player One etc. and a HUGE slice of Truman Show but as usual RR makes it an enjoyable ride.

7/10 for me

Surprised to see this thread bumped, but I finally watched it last month. It was a good time, nothing particularly special. You've got Reynolds doing his thing, fun action sequences, some good comedy (especially from Lil Rel) and Jodie Comer & Joe Keery being adorkable and getting dressed up in stupidly flattering outfits. I can't complain.

I feel like this movie achieved what the matrix 4 "tried" to do. I feel like this movie succeeded in telling the message that matrix 4 failed to tell.
both movies have somewhat similar themes that have to do with current era and with how people are preffering to stay online. but this was much better than matrix 4 lol
