I wonder if Peter is going to decide to stay in this timeline in the end ? It seems like it would be a happier place once all is said & done & everybody is getting used to having him there & there he can get along with both Walters & mom at least. Or something happens & he can not go back. But then he decides that life won't be so bad there. Also ALT Olivia is single while the other one seems to slowly be getting it on with Lincoln. Unless that Lincoln dies or something
Stay in the new timeline? I can't see him ever being ok with that for one simple reason: Olivia. Now, whether he has any way of going back to the old world is another matter. Besides that, I miss old Walter I want him back.

I'm more worried about bad Nina. She's got a lot of crazy weapons and technology at her disposal.

Has anyone else noticed that these two universe seem to be the mirror opposite of the original two. Two people we could trust in the original are bad in this one: Boyle's and Nina. The bad guy in the original two is good in this one: Walternate.

Just something I noticed.
Speaking of bad Nina, does this revelation put her actions in a new context? Some of us were thinking that she was drugging Olivia to suppress her Cortexiphan powers, but what if it's more? What if she's working to turn Olivia into some kind of living weapon? that she can point against either side?

I'm leaning towards this idea myself. Maybe Olivia plus the explosive rock that was stolen by Mr. Jones can be combined as some super doomsday weapon.

the picture for the machine was peter and olivia. so maybe olivia awaking her powers in this timeline will help peter get back to his own timeline.

From TVLine:
Fringe Update: Season 5 Discussions Underway, J.J. Abrams 'Hopeful' Show Will Be Back

When Fox president Kevin Reilly told journalists earlier this month that he’s essentially losing money on Fringe, he wasn’t just putting the show’s rabid fans on notice that a fifth season is far from a slam dunk, he was sending the following message to Warner Bros. Television: The ball’s in your court.

Basically, in order for Fox to justify renewing the low-rated cult fave, Warner Bros. would have to agree to drastically reduce the show’s license fee (i.e. the amount the studio charges the network for each episode).

But what’s that magic number? Sources confirm that both sides are currently trying to hash that out. “We remain hopeful that Fringe will be able to continue,” co-creator J.J. Abrams tells TVLine.

Warner Bros. no doubt remains even more hopeful. A fifth season would put Fringe at or very close to 100 episodes, a milestone that would enhance the show’s syndication prospects. (A studio rep declined to comment.)

The clock is ticking, but not as quickly as one might think. If this does turn out to be Fringe‘s final season, it wouldn’t actually impact producers’ Season 4 end game.

“Worst case scenario, if this were the last aired season of Fringe… we know what the end of this season is going to be,” EP Jeff Pinkner recently told TVLine, ”and it can function as a series finale.”
Use your special abilities, JJ..... get us to 100.

Seriously. A 5th season of this show to wrap everything up and clear up all the crazy plot lines would be amazing.

only 5....aim for 10....run this show into the ground. Id still want more.

I think we're running into the danger of the 4th season finale serving as a good finale.

Then the 5th season is a standalone and the season looking like it's run out of ideas

"They should have stopped at season 4. Season 5 is really lacking"

I don't think so. They've said that the season 4 finale could serve as the series finale if Fox decides to end it. Sounds like a worst case scenario situation to me. Not like Supernatural, where Kripke said from the get-go that he had five year arc planned, but the network decided they wanted more.

If it gets picked up, I have no doubt that Pinkner and Wyman have more story to tell.

The fifth season needs to be used to wrap everything up. I don't want knew ideas introduced in the last season. It will just complicate matters. That isn't to say I don't want new and interesting stuff tho. I just want every episode to be used to work towards a satisfying ending.

Agreed. If they do get picked up, they should definitely say up front that it would be the final season.

I'm still 3 episodes left this season (Wallflower), but I'll be very pleased if they decide to renew the show for a 5th season. It really shows a beam of light for future tv projects. I like how the studio and executives really tried and keep trying to keep the show on the air.

I think the situation I'm thinking of is "Stargate SG-1"

Every year they thought they were going to get canceled. So they wrote every season finale as if it were a series finale.

Season 8 would have been a nice way to end the series

But then they get the greenlight to go on with season 9 and then 10.

Some people thought they should have stopped at season 8 and the later seasons were a shell of the series(No Jack)

I don't want people to say "For me Fringe ended at season 4. I don't consider season 5 to be a great as the other seasons"

Difference is sg-1 was on syfy and syfy couldn't let sg-1 go. Fox will cancel Fringe with no regret. We will be lucky to get a fifth season. Hoping for a 6th is just naive. Not that you are naive but you get my point. Fringe wont suffer from sg-1 syndrom. If fringe is blessed enough to have a fifth season it should be treated as the final season and every episode should be used to give this series a proper and worthy send off. And I believe this is the only reason JJ or TPTB will try to get a fifth season. To finish the show properly. It will be the last no doubt.

I hope I understood your meaning right.

Yeah I tot feal like this should have happened the second season maybe not in the series last years.

Observers are on to Peter. This can't be good.

alt olivia is so hot....dat swagger.

seems fox is in negotiations to have a season 5. which is fantastic, 10 more years.

Fringe will be off for the first 3 weeks in March. When it returns the remaining 8 episodes will air uninterrupted (Fox is also doing this with House).

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/...fringe-three-week-break-in-march-205412/9619/

I remember the days when networks would air ALL their episodes in a row (unless sports or the President got in the way).

Hey networks, want your ratings to stop dropping? Then stop making it impossible to predict when the next episode will air. Maybe actually stick to those 'schedules' you set so people don't get frustrated and wait until the DVD is released.

nothing worse then airing 4 episodes...then take a 1 month break, then air 1 episode, then takes a 3 week break.

Most effective way to ensure your viewers go to streaming, or just give up trying completely.

Which I could have sworn was the opposite of what they wanted.

...although...it is Fox...

I agree. The unpredictability of when new episodes will air has become increasingly frustrating. This goes for many of the shows I watch.
