Welcome to the official Jeffrey Dean Morgan is Thomas Wayne thread. We don't know who Martha is, but we may found out soon...

We have only see him in one scene but it was shot in IMAX and Snyder may have come with something badass. :sly:

I created this because maybe they will use him in the Batsolo more and for everything you expect for him (flashbacks) and what we see in future trailers and in the movie itself for Batman's father.

Will he be a doctor or will they change his profession, this and everything you want to ask and discuss about Bruce Wayne's parents, here's your place.

You can also place your theory on who is the actress we saw playing Martha Wayne. Many (ArmsHeldOut said it first) have said it was Watchmen's Dr. Manhathan first girlfriend...

She is Bruce Wayne's mother. Really John-An, you should pick up a comic book every now and then.

Laura Mennell is her name, and yes, i'm pretty sure that she is Martha Wayne. :cwink:

I think it was just me (although Sam backed me up). Having seen the new trailer, though, I'm not so sure anymore. Mennell has a longer patrician-looking nose and a slightly higher hairline than the actress who portrays Martha in said trailer. I need to get a better look at her face.

Oddly enough she kinda looks like ScarJo in that still from the trailer.

If it was Carla Gugino, I wouldn't complain.

I'm just curious.

Is there any cb series where Martha Wayne plays a bigger role or some more background on her? I was rewatching Batman Begins the other day and she got no love. Lawd.

you know what would be awesome? if a future Flash film is based on Flashpoint, then we can see Jeffery Dean Morgan as Batman :woot:

This is a problem... Okay, maybe not a problem, but it is seriously all over the place with super hero origins and stories. No seemingly highlighted contributions from the mother character. And I get it given historical context, but it's still going on today with these adaptations.

She was quite a "badass" in that one issue of the "Court of Owls". Aside from that issue and "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" I can't recall any other instance where the character had a notable presence right now.

Batman: Family 1-8 by John Francis Moore. Young Martha is depicted as a young Gotham socialite and social justice crusader who butts heads with Celia Kazantkakis, head of a criminal organization known as the Network. It's a good read.

"Court Of Owls" is where I discovered that her maiden name is "Martha Arkham". It is implied in that her family has a history with mental disorders.

I think you're getting confused with Batman: Earth One. In the mainstream DCU, her surname is Kane (no relation to Kate Kane aka Batwoman).

They'd really be missing a trick if they didn't have Carla Gugino as Martha.

She looks like Snow White from "Fables" here. Speaking of which, what a disappointing end of the series.

Well, I'll be damned... now I am not sure from where it is. If it's the latter then it's not cannon, if it's the former then it is cannon in New 52 (hence, still not cannon to me :woot:).

I'm pretty confident that it's from Earth One, which, like you said, isn't canon. Court of Owls was mostly written by Scott Snyder, who recently acknowledged Bruce's Kane lineage, as seen in the image below depicting Martha's brother, Phillip Kane.

Bruce: The man killed my father.
Rachel: What about your mom?
Bruce: Who?
