I'm pretty confident that it's from Earth One, which, like you said, isn't canon. Court of Owls was mostly written by Scott Snyder, who recently acknowledged Bruce's Kane lineage, as seen in the image below depicting Martha's brother, Phillip Kane.

Actually, the Zero Year issue had her being called back to Gotham because her Uncle Philip had died, the same one in the comic panel above. So they are related.

Ah, I hadn't read that. Thanks for the info. I actually gave up on New 52 following the Court of Owls arc. It's interesting that they would finally establish consanguineous ties between Bruce and Kate, though -- especially in light of the fact that their respective origins have been shown to be markedly different.

I hadn't really thought about it before, but I think both this and BB did a great job of casting actors that are very believable as being the father of their respective Batmen. I can buy JDM being Affleck's father and I can buy Linus Roache being Bale's, but you can't switch them. Roache being Affleck's father... I couldn't buy that.

It's been rumored that the DCEU is focusing on team up films even for their solo movies. I think that JDM could play Batman in the Flash solo which I could see being based on Flashpoint.

The Flash TV show specifically made a point not to go in the Flashpoint direction, I think it could be because the movie intended to go in that direction.

I hope not. I find the idea of Thomas and Martha being portrayed as the Batman and Joker of their reality quite silly. It takes away from the unique series of events that led to Bruce donning the cowl in the mainstream universe. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Flashpoint -- I just wouldn't want to see them go that route in the DCEU.

I do hope they go with a Flashpoint-inspited film somewhere down the line though. The multiverse is such a unique setting for DC, it would be a shame if they don't take advantage of it.

I think it's a little to early to use Flashpoint personally but I would love to see that somewhere down the road.
