The Dark Knight from Better Than Fudge.com

I had no doubts about Nolan from the beginning. But after hearing this, the guy knows exactly what he is doing. He could cast vin diesel as Harvey Dent and I would have no doubts.

Hmmmm....Nolans going old school with the joker. Good. That Joker still has a flair and arrogance to him. As long as jokers not portrayed as some cookie cutter boring serial killer, all will be good.

And he didnt say anything new in the interview? Maybe you people need to read it again. He just gave us insight into some of the themes in the movie, and that the title is intergal.

He did and his vision seems to be focused and perfect for Batman. I loved reading the comments to the article, especially the one on how Joker was Nicholson instead of Joker.

By October we'll probably know all the info thats going to be in the interview.

We know that "The Killing Joke" will be inspire for TDK. I hope they will add from "The Man Who Laughs" as well.

Agreed not to mention "the Man Who Laughs" is a direct sequel to Year One. They need to use some elements from "The Man Who Laughs" .

They don't NEED TO... they could use ;)

"Our story is not Year One"
--- David S. Goyer

I like the sound of where he's going with Joker. And Ledger is making more and more sense, he even looks like Kane's Joker.

And I think a mix of TKJ and the earlier stuff would be perfect. Let's just hope he's in a purple suit.

Nowe that you mentioned it, he does look more like Kane´s Joker than maybe other interpretations of the character. I´d say he kinda looks like the character pre-transformation in The Killing Joke, too.

Now that Nolan mentioned the theme of the movie being things getting worse before they get better, and having multiple villains in the movie, I´m thinking about the title, as you know "dark knight" is also a pun with "dark night", which, in this case, could mean dark times coming for Gotham...

i;m glad to have a new Joker..............

But nothing new was really divulged in this interivew

actually he divulged plenty. That Ledgers Joker will NOT be a carbon copy of Nicholsons and that he will be a more ideal and darker Joker. He also admitted that the Killing Joke will be an inspiration as long as his first two apperances in the comics.

I wanna know what this means... "Want to know more?!? Pick up the magazine October 23rd! And maybe if you’re nice I’ll mention a couple more tidbits here soon…such as Nolan’s thoughts on taking on The Prisoner and another huge franchise character as yet unmentioned…" What could the "other huge franchise character" possibly be?!?!

Possibly Bond?? Nolan has stated that he would love to do a Bond film.

I already knew that......

:eek:you didnt?

I disagree wholeheartedly. Ain't nothin' better than fudge!

No. You didn't. You speculated that he might've, but this is confirmation. This has to be one of the first times Nolan has ever really said much about The Dark Knight. He always seems to give a basic "I cant really say much" response. He's actually told us basically what kind of Joker to expect. While TKJ is kinda predictable, the fact that he's also using his earliest appearances as inspiration is also incredibly interesting.

I think this Joker will be awsome (a cold bastard murderer) and I hope Nolan base the character in "the man who laughs" too and not only in the first comics and "The Killing Joke" how he said in the interview.

Well actually I have read reports from last year about it being inspired by the Killing Joke and we all knew it was not gonna be like the Joker previuously seen.

you didn't know it was being inspired by the first two joker appearances... say, you didn't even think that this could happen ;)

But Nolan saying it directly is different. Reports are rumors, now is confirmed.

It wasnt a big suprise, its not breaking news, why would he copy the Nicholsona and Batman! 60s show, we know he has read TKJ and like it.....

lets stop debating cuz its pointless......:down

Well, in regards to "The Man Who Laughs", in all fairness, that was based off Joker's first appearance, and was somewhat of an updated version of Batman #1, so even if they don't use "The Man Who Laughs" for reference, there will still be simularities between the two.
