The Dark Knight From LatinoReview: Joker Intro SPOILERS!

If the mob want their money back, isn't easier to kill the Joker and take the money back, instead of going after Batman?

Batman is a threat to the mob as well. This just gives them more incentive to take Batman out.

Some men just wanna watch money burn.

The FDIC insures bank deposits up to a very large amount.

Of course, no real bank would knowingly take the mob's money. That would be a crime unto itself.

This is not a credible storyline (I'm sure this has been posted, but I'm not reading 6 pages of this bickering).

I'm calling it BS.

I don't know... if I were one of them, I would try to take out the Joker, get my money back, and then, if I feel like it, go after Batman...

In the teaser after Bale says "The mob crossed the line"
Caine says "They turned to a man they didnt fully understand"
Why would the Joker hold the mob's money ransom untill the mob kills Batman, if the mob asked the Joker to kill Batman, that idea is idiotic, the Joker is crazy, there is a difference

Don't even try to bash Nolan, he is one of the most intellegent directors of our time, he ain't going to make some thing like this with out explanation. .

Nolan sounds like an intelligent guy held back by something or someone. Memento was wayyyyyyy better written than Batman Begins.

We will just have to wait and see, the Joker is...well the Joker always two steps ahead of everyone else.

Though I agree this interview or story is spotchy. But I know this movie will rule, it seems to have so much from TLH coming from it.

I'm not gonna call every "scoop" bs, but the 5 mins of TDK or prologue doesnt fit with Nolan's secretive style, and the holding the mob's money ransom contradicts the Teaser that we all have heard by now. I'm sure we are getting something but not that much.

I am calling this intro of Joker to be BS. No person in the WB departments would release this kind of information. Basically WB has taken a vow of silence when it comes to Batman. They are not going to release it like this. It just screams BS to me.

Plus, even if this is true (which I highly doubt) it sounds pretty weak story writing. I think that the writers can do better.

Yeah, that's just stupid. What, he's going to walk out of the bank with every bit of money the mob has in there? That'd be what, four, five bags (note the sarcasm)? Or is he going to electronically steal it all somehow?

And...every gang and mob in Gotham keeps their money in the same bank? In GOTHAM, no less? Not in Swiss bank accounts?

That's just a stupid, stupid plan. And incredibly contrived. I like the idea behind it, and I see where it could potentially go :Gotham's criminals all against Batman (which they already were), , and a warehouse full of money going up in flames, but the actual specifics of that are just dumb.

Bravo, Sir.

This BS spoiler sounds like it was contrived by a 15-year-old kid who's unaware of the FDIC.

Well don't worry about TDK then. Because his brother who helped write Memento wrote TDK with Nolan. Though I still think your wrong about BB, and hopefully your not just trying to ...troll.

Two words : Caiman Islands. That's where the mob would be keeping their money and not in one single bank in Gotham.
Plus I really hope the mob hires the Joker like it's been rumoured, they go to the bogeyman to stop the Batman. "They crossed the line this time...", I thought that great piece of dialiogue was referring to that.

Am I not speaking English here? This. Doesn't. Make. Sense. You can't house the entire mobs' money in a bank. They wouldn't be stupid enough to keep all their money in one spot.

Many ideas sound stupid on paper.

It's all about the execution of said idea.

I think either The Roman or Maroni turns to the Joker to stop Batman, and the Joker uses the other mobs to help him out. This way the quote makes sense.

Your not hearing English either it seems. Like I said LR is a site that gets things wrong a lot, I remember with T3 how many reports they brought in that were half true, or not true at all. Just wait for the movie. Jonathan and Chris got it under control.

And Numez just chill out. Stop whining. I can't believe people are getting worried about this. But like Jow said lol, when new news arrives the Playa Hatas gotta be coming in and making sure they bash and whine.

For the people who are complaining about the mob having all their money in a bank in Gotham, here are a couple of points:

1. These are old-school gangsters. I wouldn't put it past them to keep all their ill-gotten gains in-house, in a bank THEY own. The dialogue from the sides suggests that they felt their reputation alone would stop anyone from hitting the bank.

2. "The Long Halloween" explored the idea of old-time gangsters set in their ways, unable to adapt to the modern era, being slowly overtaken by a new breed of more dangerous criminal. "Begins" already nodded to it with the "escalation" discussion. Perhaps the gangsters' foolish lapse in judgement here - their own complacency getting them bent over a table by The Joker - is another way of exploring it.

3. These are the same gangsters whose boss - Falcone - goes down to the scene of a drug shipment to "keep an eye on things", then when Batman attacks he goes outside to investigate instead of making a quiet getaway. They aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I don't think it's so far-fetched for the mob to keep money in the bank . . . not ALL of it, but it would make sense that there is a crooked bank manager that washes the money, etc., etc. (like in Casino) . . . but I'm still up in the air about this whole scenario as far as credibility goes . . .

I think the mob having all their eggs in one basket (to coin a phrase) can be done credibly. Like you say, the money laundering from "Casino". Or what about the money train from "The Shield"?

I'm talking about this news, not the actual movie. This news sucks. If it's true, part of the movie really blows.

Yeah, I should stay calm when my most anticipated movie of all time is turning out to be something I don't want. :whatever:

I agree, also with Keyser. I think people we don't know fully whats going on either.

BB was done wonderfuly and TDK seems to be even better in terms of depth of plot. And yes TLH is definatley a source for TDK even more so then BB.
