Funny collector logic

1. Scalpers are people who by up all the most popular figures and sell them at comic stores, conventions, or online at insane prices. A good trader is someone who offers variants up for trade, as long as the trade is for a Dark Phoenix, Toad, Stealth Iron Man, Phasing Ghost Rider, or 4 figures for the one variant.

Hey I generally trade my figs off at what I got them for...Sure IF I buy a varne tfor the cost of two figs I am gonna want two figs for it when I sell it two years later, but when I buy a varient at reatail I trade it for one fig.....hopefully another varient, but I aint making money here I am helping to expand your collections.

1. While it sucks to have to pay more than retail for any figure, it's fair to ask a lower price than what someone paid for the figure because otherwise it would be scalping at the same price.

I ain't naming names, just referring to an experience I had at fwoosh. If I paid $40 for a Dark Phoenix, I'll ask for $40 in figures and give the person a copy of the receipt (I've done this before).

Oh I know....Fwooshers suck....i wish I could go back

No you don't. I'm just getting started with their logic.

Though having the same username on this board as I do there is usually something that gets me into trouble.

1. Paying $40 now for a figure that will be more widely available at retail in 3 weeks guarantees your place in action figure collecting history as being one of the first to score a figure from a new series.

2. I have a regular figure from the newest series that is just starting to hit. You have a variant from an older series. You want my figure from the new series. The deal is your variant and another figure for my figure that'll be more available in 2 weeks.

1. People who sell on ebay are evil because they are selling figures at prices that collectors like us are paying for them.

1. collectors complain about the price that some people sell figs for, but in reality it's we collectors that set these prices by paying them.

4. When possible, the garden entrance to walmart is the main and only entrance. (it's closest to the toy aisles)

:wow: :woot: :woot: :woot: ...so true, i do this most all the time....damn you Saint for calling me out.:woot:

My Canadian Wal Mart doesn't hve a garden entrance, but if it did it would be right by the toys.

We don't even have a Wallmart...and Toy's R US is still only selling those ancient Turtles and JP figures...

After spending the last...what, year? 2 Years? I've seen some really hilarious and bizarre logic demonstrated by collectors. It's the weirdest stuff. For instance:

1. When all the figures you are looking for are missing, it must be a scalper. There is no chance of it being another collector. Or even worse, a kid wanting his favorite action figure.
2. When figures aren't shelved, it's because of lazy employees. Not because orders haven't been made or confusion in the storeroom.
3. Store employees are idiots and know nothing about the figures they're selling. No chance that they just don't care about action figures.
4. All other people in the toy aisle are your competition and possible scalpers. Do not talk to them. Pretend you're not looking for what you actually are.
5. When someone says they may have found something, they usually are lying or it's otherwise not true. For instance, someone finds the F4 movie figure that was cancelled, Annihilus. Since collectors cannot find the figure, it must be a bootleg.

This is too damn true...
Rgarding #1: I think that it's better to think that it's a scalper or a collector than a costumizer... that's even worse... although custom figs are cool... but to think that a customizer stole your chance to get a rare fig... that's hell man... Kids... I've never seen kids with ML have you?

Regarding#2: Sometimes it is... mostly at KB...

Regarding#3: Tis the damned truth... Like a certain Wal*Mart I go... They never want to stock Legends, and they leave the ML gap wide open, but they'd rather overstock the aisle with the big Carlito Caribbean Cool figs... now to quote him... That's not cool...

Regarding#4: well when it's almost the 24th of December, hell yeah... Yesterday I scored the whole Mojo and Modok series...(At last...) and I had to fight people trying to get them out of my cart... Lost a variant FA IM that way, but scored SW II and Moonknight Variants...
