BvS Future of Superman on film?

Tell me, where does WB go with Superman?

Finke rumored an MOS 2 in 2018. Is that plausible? Would it be a true sequel to MOS or a reboot building on BvS and JL?

Or, will WB go in a new direction post MOS? Something totally new?

If they DOS in BvS I think it opens the doors creatively on how to bring him back/change him in the follow-up.

I also think its a great marketing move, if that is what they do. Think of the huge boost all things Superman got for several years after the 1992 DOS comic.

Dual strategy in BvS? Launch JL and re-launch Superman - as in get the GA caring forhim again as they did with the 1992 story?

IMO, whatever is planned, Cavill must continue, he is amazing in the role.

I think beyond these two (DoJ and JL) we'll have him feature in the stand alone Batman film, a JL sequel and that will lead into a stand alone Superman sequel proper as such.

Hopefully, but if the Superman sequel is to follow JL2 what we talking about 2022/2023. That is a stretch.

For Cavill to continue, IMO, the stand-alone needs to come sooner. I don't think they can streatch the "true" sequel much beyond 2018/2019.

If WB intends to use/capitalize on Cavill a stand-alone sequel needs to be out there by 2018/2019.

Unfortunately SDCC2014will not likely see WB announce nanythig beyond 2017 so it will be a year before this isknown.

WB is going to use him as a core franchise driving actor or not. Waiting till 2022/2023 is not an option IMO.

The DOS rumors persist and what does that mean? Could/would WB use that as an opportunity for a soft-reboot? Why do it so soon if they are? That makes no sense. As it is TDKR which Snyder seems to be adapting seems to be enough.

ComicCon will be revealing. if nothing else a JL reveal will likely happen. How big a role will Supes play in JL? Will Amy and Fishburne be part of the cast?

SDCC will reveal a lot. Unfortunately I don't see WB revealing film plans past 2017 so any rumored MOS 2 won't be addressed one way or the other. In limbo, Supes fans, till 2015.

JL details will be revealed IMO. Is Supes in it? You'd think. How about Lois, Perry? WB may only announce the main characters so, assuming Supes is one, that won't tell us if his supporting characters are going to play any role or not. Or if he will have a big role or not.

Color me skeptical but, until I se more, so I remain.

Not really a premise. A question. Where do you see the franchise going?

WB is not Marvel the rumors already are out there as to who replaces Evans as CA. So Marvel sees the CA franchise as ongoing.

I'd like, silly me, to see WB indicate - forget an ongoing Superman franchise - just one more solo Superman film.

No it's not. That statue could very well be there to honor superman for his heroics during his fight with zod in mos, with the ppl visiting there paying respect to the ppl that were killed by zod. Seriously, superman doesn't need to die in order for ppl to realize that they care about him.

As a fan I can try to stretch those phots to mean something they clearly don't.

The rumors fit the photos.

And, if done right (asking a lot from WB) this could, as a cliffhanger, revive Superman as a franchise.

I hope that is the plan. Right now I am assuming, given BvS will very, very likely be a cliffhanger, that Supes is dead or MIA at the end. Great PR move by WB/DC if that is the plan.

I just want reassurance Supes is in the cast of JL. Fortunatey that won't be a lon wait - as confirmation of MOS 2 or not will likely be,. The cast of JL will be revealed at ComicCon.I'm sue on that.

No. Honest question. What is the cinematic future of Superman? That is posited often re: Batman. Why not ask it about Supes?

Should the focus be team films only? Or solos too and which villains?

Like I said, this is asked about Bats and I am sure others a lot. I saw a Bats related post that postulated like a half-dozen or more villains for his next half dozen or more films.

Bats ain't Supes, or visa versa, but a more short term vision is what I am asking about.

To be honest, there is a sense in which this makes "sense". As in part a move to re-invigorate the Superman brand. If it is done right.
