I really hope not. They're already on shaky ground when it comes to Supes public image in the DCEU and an evil Supes (albeit temporary) will totally destroy any credibility they have about Superman being (or ever being) a 'beacon a hope'.

well, they have no plan for him anyway. so they just make him a springboard so that the rest can shine and can sell better.

Well, he's not smiling in a lot of this promo art...that might be Evil Superman at work...

I can't say, but if i had a choice, I'd rather him wake up confused, not knowing who he is, or that he even has powers at first. He discovers that he has powers slowly through accidents that should have hurt or killed him, but instead left him unscathed.
His memory slowly returns as well. And oh, bearded when he first wakes up.

but then the injustice dream will be pointless.

Not true, if they emphasize a moment where if the league weren't there, or something slightly different happened he'd have been reborn fully in the control of Steppenwolf and the forces of apocalypse, or he would have been captured right after he came back and was weak allowing him to be corrupted and turned evil, then the knightmare specs would be completely fulfilled.

well, that's my theory. he was revived by Steppenwolf just like how he revived all the deaths to be his parademons.

What if...

I believe that was the original plan for Justice League, for him to return as "evil" for a bit but with all the backlash they've received from BvS I think that was scrapped before they started shooting. Just a blind guess, no real information obviously but that's my feeling.

Basically all the complaints about this Superman boil down to "he's not nice enough" (oversimplification but still), I don't see them going the evil Superman route and making those complaints louder.

If he is evil, I think he will be "evil" for like a few minutes total. He'll come out of his death coma, be dazed and Steppenwolf will be able to control him somehow. Fight with the league, Batman will remember future Flash saying "Lois is the key" and will send Barry to grab her and snap Clark out of whatever trance he's in.

My second theory is Lex will work with Steppenwolf in exchange for protection/his life and will offer to give Steppenwolf an unstoppable/unkillable soldier, and will try to Doomsday-ify Clark's body in a similar way to what he did with Zod, then because of the codex in Clark's body, the procedure won't work and he will come back as good old Superman.

Maybe lex will put SuperMan in a plexiglass box chamber and Steppenwolff will loose His powers instead ?! :cwink:

Taking out something that big would be pretty fatal, in my estimation. That's a huge plot point with a lot of downstream implications that would change the story as a whole. I don't see them scrapping that if it were in the film but if that's what happened then hoo boy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Superman wakes up confused. I mean, who wouldn't? But after that, it's on like Donkey Kong.

cool theory!!! that's why he isn't in the 1st 1/2 of the movie...
but again how to explain the rising dust fr the coffin in the last scene of BvS?

His body is charged with energy and Kryptonians can manipulate gravity no mind to control it and a light gravity field is active.

I always did think that some form of evil Supeman WILL be presented in Justice League. We've already touched upon that idea in BvS and I'm sure Flashpoint is going to be referenced to take us into Flash's solo film that ultimately connects the BvS Knightmare scene.

I did bring up a scenario the last time I logged on that the end to the JL trailer seems VERY eerie with Alfred. A thought popped in my mind that Alfred could be talking to the Injustice Superman from that Knightmare Universe, who crossed over from that world (somehow; Boomtubes?) and that we could have a Superman III scenario where Kal takes on evil Superman himself (reminiscent of 'Logan' as well.) That's probably a far-fetched way of thinking but my mind tends to run off at times.

This is almost exactly what I've been thinking in some capacity and posted something similar a couple weeks ago with no bites. The "unstoppable/unlikable soldier" as you put it could turn out to be the Superman from the BvS Knightmare scene. I have envisioned a 'Logan' scenario where the one true Superman takes on evil Superman for a brief time. It just looks so f#$cking awesome in my mind lol.

Really just a gut feeling/theory. I think while making BvS that was the idea Zack had in mind but after the backlash of BvS I think that would get shot down by WB who's been trying to course correct ever since. That's still alot of time to re-write it so that the League and Steppenwolf fight over control of Superman's body and the JL end up preventing him from becoming mind-controlled/evil (there is a rumored scene of the other Leaguers protecting his casket in a fight). We already know they have done some course correcting with the script, even before Whedon jumped on board. Also remember all the rumored changes to Suicide Squad to lighten the tone and that was already in production at the time, JL still had time before it started shooting. I don't think it's a wild stretch. But again, just a theory, not something I'm really even fully convinced of myself, I could be full of it lol...
