So today I was talking to a co-worker while I was working, and he brought up Heroes. I brought up Peter and his scar, and he said back in Season One future Peter never met Future Claire, so therefore he didn't have her power so he could not heal his scar. Hmmm.

Your theory?

It's possible. Peter met Claire because of future Hiro telling current Peter to save the cheerleader. That could be why the bomb went off in the time line that future Peter came from. But at the same time, if future Peter never met Claire in their time line, he wouldn't have survived his explosion in New York (assuming he never met anyone else that can heal). But from episode 1 season 3, Peter obviously knew Claire and vice versa. Peter would've absorbed her power and instantly heal the scar.

What was future Hiro's objective when he told current Peter to save Claire? Was it to prevent the bomb from going off or was it to prevent Sylar from getting her power or both?

when the heroes stopped peter from exploding in new york the timeline changed.

it most of been from a battle with soemone, or something, with abilities that go beyond his powers, that scared him in a way that he can't heal from

or

maybe, he kept the scar as a reminder from some fight he was in
kinda like what future Sylars was saying about the broken watch he wears

Suggesting that Ted, Peter or Sylar couldn't survive their own nuclear explosion is laughable. Remember Company Man everyone?

Ted was going nuclear but yet his clothes didn't fry off and his body didn't start to break up... it's sort of like a really hard punch. It might make the other person hurt a lot when you hit them hard enough, but it's not like your hand actually explodes into little bits to cause that force.

or he was fighting Adam around the haitian so he couldnt heal and adam slashed his face with his sword

wouldn't it still heal, though, after the haitian left???

not unless he stayed to watch him.........meh i dunno it was just an idea, with an obvious plot hole lol

Even if you couldn't heal it for some reason. Future Peter has the ability to change his appearance. I think they just want future Peter to seem like a hard ***.

what i really dont get about the scar is 1. is that the peter from season one that never got the powers..and somehow stayed the same even though the future around him changed 2.... even if he didnt get the powers im sure he could have gotten them very easy, like right before claire was going to shoot him ( the first time this season ).. the haitian was not there cause peter stopped time to get away....so that atleast means he wouldnt die (i guess heal an old scar. tho)

edit::>>i guess he couldnt heal an old scar

good post

The reason the current Future Peter has a scar is because the audience were introduced to a Future Peter back in series one who had a scar, which was the character's most defining feature. As such, all subsequent Future Peters (at least post-apocalyptic ones) will almost certainly have a scar across their face as well for viewer recognition.

do you think the scar kinda means since he travels through time so much ( I guess same goes for hiro) there not affected by the changes made in season 1 ...and 2 and that's the same scar from (s)1

I would assume that Peter's scar is much like Nathan seeing his "burnt" self in that it's not truly their, the only difference is that because Peter has Candace's power other people can see it too.

I already posed this question in another thread.

In this season, future Peter came back and shot Nathan...altering the future he came from. So how could he go back to his time? This made me think. Maybe Hiro and now Nathan can go to different time lines.

As for Peter's scar, I thought of guessed that Hiro gave it to him in the future of NY exploding from Season 1. Since you really cannot change the future and their destiny...I guess Peter will end up with a scar no matter what?

Right now, it's serving a visual aid to distinguish Peter from Future Peter, but knowing the writers of this show, they'll show exactly when and why the scar is there and why it doesn't heal.

i am wondering if peter can lose certain powers. future peter was shot and killed by claire in the future when he took "good" peter with him. he wasn't shot in the head (or was he), so why did he die? why didn't he heal either? i think future peter lost his healing ability somehow.

I think any wound inflicted while the Haitian is around doesn't heal. In this last episode when Peter was slicing up his mom his wounds from Claire still hadn't healed. And the Haitian wasn't there because they could still use their powers

I guess the writers explained that one I guess it explains it all now about the scar in everything else

so does that mean now if pete goesback in time for some reason he's going to be shirtless to show the difference between the two peters .... LOL funny

if they still are going the route of " peter still gets the scar" and they dont do it now then they are VERY stupid.
