FX Atlanta

Evans would've probably been an easy get for them too since he and Lakeith know each other from Knives Out.

Well, it was nice to see Earn and Van get an episode even if they had absolutely no business camping in the woods. Plus, good to see some acknowledgment of their time in Amsterdam, brief as it was.

Really dug the recent episode and the return of the Black America Network.

That said, there is no way in hell that episode gets made prior to FX technically being a part of Disney. No way the Mouse lets you use that much iconography and visuals without him owning a part of your soul.

Though I've still never seen A Goofy Movie...

Finally got around to the new episode, it's so damn good and it's sucks that nobody is really talking about it.

It's easily up there with the best Atlanta episodes.

I had to look up the last episode because I was completely convinced it was a true story.

Same. I was pretty much searching Thomas Washington and some of the other names mentioned in the episode on Google for about an hour and was surprised to see that it was mostly fictional.

Kudos to the team behind this episode for making it seem so damn convincing.

So the series finale is a Darius focused episode which kinda makes sense and explains why he’s been a little in the background since season 3. Looking forward to it even though I got to catch up with the 2 previous episodes.

I'm a little surprised that the focus isn't on all of the main characters in the finale but it also makes sense since episode 7 felt like closure for Earn and Van and episode 9 felt like closure for Al.

So was it all in Darius' head the entire time? Is he still in the tank?

Thought it was a great finale.

Ever since Teddy Perkins, I've always had my guard up that some horrific **** is gonna happen in the show, but I'm glad it ended on a happy note. It's nice to see how the show started with Earn and Al barely talking to each other, Earn being a ****boy with Van, and no one even knowing who Darius was save for Al and now it ended with all of them being cool
The whole bit of them in the car was heartwarming and nice.

But I didn't expect Glover to go with the
"Is it all in his head"
type ending. I figured he think that'd be too obvious or pretentious

The whole sushi restaurant stuff was hilarious. Especially the line about the Yelp review

It's funny because other than those lost 1-2 mins, it didn't feel like a series finale at all. Nothing that really touched on Van and Earn's move, nothing about Al's rap career, nothing about Van's whole mental health thing in season 3...But I dug that about it. I like that this could've been any average ep. or season finale.

When time passes, I won't be surprised if I don't consider Atlanta one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time. The only flaws I can think of is how disjointed season 3 felt (still a great season and all the episodes were good. I just didn't like that the anthology nature of it and wish it was it's own thing) and that Darius wasn't in season 4 much.

Great finale and I really love this show. I wish they'd release it on blu ray

I was mostly satisfied with the finale as well even though I agree that it didn't feel like a proper series finale. I was definitely expecting something a bit more definitive but at the same time I can't honestly say that I'm mad that it ended this way because it ended on such a high note for the main characters.

As much as I love the anthology episodes, I do still wish that those episodes were their own thing so that we could spend even more time with these characters, but they have done such a great job almost seamlessly incorporating that stuff so that it all flows naturally that I can't be too mad at that either.

At the end of the day, I am really going to miss this show and being in this crazy, quirky world that Glover and the rest of the writers came up with and hopefully we get somekind of spinoff series down the line.

We never deserved this show… masterpiece.

We didn’t need more from that. We got everything with the camping episode and the farming episode for our “two leads” and this was a a perfect summation of this show. Quirky, full of heart, ****ing weird, and truly beautiful.
