The Superhero Cinematic Civil War of Tomorrow Thread - Part 62

The trailer for that came on after TNF last night. What a damn cast.

It took me a second to get The Holiday Jack Black but the one on the far left...when did he play Guy Fieri in a movie? :o
I had to look in the replies for The Holiday Jack Black. Apparently, the Guy Fieri one is supposed to be Tenacious D...

I saw that when I googled "Jack Black Fire Shirt". It's not 100% accurate so it doesn't count. :o

If you guys were in charge of putting the X-Men team together for this film, what would your line up be?

Mine would be...

Cyclops
Storm
Wolverine
Colossus
Nightcrawler
Kitty Pryde (early 20s)
Psylocke (Kwannon)
Forge

I would use Giant Sized X-Men #1 as the basis with Xavier recruiting/reforming the team to stop whatever the threat is.

Halle doing the nice auntie version of Samuel L Jackson:

The excessive shaky cam and haphazard editing that didn’t give two s**t’s about screen direction making the action especially disorienting on top of the normal Bay sound made for pure sensory assault. That action in the desert was the main culprit and it dragged on for seemingly forever.
Don't forget every human character looking nauseatingly ****ing orange.

Who do posters here think was right in civil war? I think it was a very interesting discussion. Given that shield kept getting hacked and infiltrated, maybe Captain America was right. What happened with Ultron gives Tony a strong argument IMO. Perhaps shield agreed with creating Ultron though.

Overall, maybe Captain America is right, but they would have to keep having meetings about whether they should be overseen.

Finished the DC for Captain America 1990. The action scenes are still fairly shoddy looking and obviously cheap. But it's obvious that the director was aware of the limitations. This movie is very different pacing wise and in how the story plays out. The cut we all grew up with plays out linearly, while this one is then Present Day focused with flashbacks at strategic places back to WWII. I think this approach largely works better for the film, though some flashbacks don't entirely work even still. There are also a fair amount of character scene that give the movie actual themes and showcase Cap's struggle being out of time much better.

In the end, this is still a cheap movie. Nothing changes that this ain't Batman 89 or a Reeve Superman movie. But for what it is, this DC version achieves what they tried to do a lot better. It's much more competent. It is also clear the director was a fan of the character and tried with this movie. Glad thus finally saw the light of day

I’ve never watched the 1990 Cap movie, so on the strength of your review I’m going to watch it in a bit.

Some beautiful soul uploaded it.
