Who would make a good, great, or the ULTIMATE Herald for Galactus?

Posted below are all the Heralds who have already done it, who would make the best or who should be one who hasn't already? Who would you like to see become one?

an ultimate herald would obviously be some sort of villain rather than a hero, someone who has no remorse for the loss of human life and doesn't have pity for either his own race or perhaps any other race out there...yet is also willing to serve another for the ultimate goal of having power....

also someone who has no ties to their homeworld or any other person which would allow them to go on about their duties without any regret.

probably not a telepath or an empath...

mmmm......

anyone that has served apocalypse as an horseman, especially warren worthington III back in the day

also sabretooth and Kaine would also make decent choices...

imagine a spiderman clone being able to webswing across galaxies, tell me that's not ****ing cool...

:o

it'd be priceless to see Deadpool

maybe Dr. Strange for kicks

nah, just Deadpool

Deadpoll, the Hilarious/Hysterical Herald...

for some reason i see his costume changing from red to yellow as a herald...

How about Carnage, he's not excatly people friendly not to mention his great sense of fun.

I like Deadpool, and Great Lake Heralds would be cool. Also Thor. And as a crossover or alnternate universe story, Lobo.

I'd like to see Spider-Man, maybe in a What if story where he sacrafices himself to save his world (because with power comes responcibility, and he would feel like he had to). But only as a what if.

Here is a picture of Superman as a Herald that I forgot to post

I don't remember who this guy is either, but he was apperantly a herald of Galactus.

Red Shift

Nothing is known about Red Shift's past before he became the Herald of Galactus. At some point, Galactus became addicted to the consumption of intelligent life. It is unclear whether this occurred before or after Red Shift was empowered as herald, but Red Shift cooperated fully with Galactus's plans. In time, Red Shift attempted to lead Galactus to Earth. He started by attacking the Silver Surfer, who battled Red Shift for a short while before recognizing that he possessed the Power Cosmic as one of Galactus's heralds.
Red Shift proudly declared that he actually served another master, but without revealing whom. He opened a portal to trap the Surfer in a black hole but was himself trapped when the Surfer destroyed one of his swords and confiscated the other.
He has banded together with the other heralds of Galactus, who are hunted by the forces of Annihilus's Annihilation Wave, for an unknown purpose.
As of Annihilation #3 Redshift and Stardust are both feared dead after they intercepted and held back a massive blast of energy from Galactus absorption device, long enough for the Alliance to escape the planet they were on.

Powers and abilities

Like past heralds, Red Shift was granted the power cosmic that allowed him to survive and travel through space, grant him super strength, and a number of other abilities. He wielded two swords that could cut holes in space to act as portals to other places. Red Shift was able to open these portals offensively to redirect comets and send foes into black holes.
Red Shift bears a resemblance to Beta Ray Bill, but without verification this can be taken as artistic license instead of an indication that he is of the same race.

Other

The name Red Shift refers to his ability to send foes into black holes, the Red Shift effect of black holes is when an object would hit the event horizon of a black hole and their image would seem to turn more red because the gravity of the hole causes the wavelength of the light to stretch out and appear more red, because red has the longest wavelength.

What about Gladiator as a Herald? That would be cool.

Oh yeah, that would be cool. I'd like to see some cool herald designs for characters like GLA, Deadpool, Spider-Man, Carnage, Lobo, Gladiator, Captain America maybe, and so on.
Maybe in a Marvel Millenial Visions or something like that.

do all heralds have pretty much teh same amount of power cosmic or are they just as tough and versatile as the silver surfer

who was galactus' first herald?

and why does he merely have only one, surely he should have thousands...

The Fallen One.

And thousands wouldn't really help, when one can do the job.

I always liked Tyrant (where the hell was he during Annihilation?). I think Doom, Sentry, Gladiator, or Ares would be optimal for my tastes. They would be by far the most effective when infused with the power cosmic I think... though Sentry really doesnt need anymore power.

He does have thousands of drone Heralds, they are called Punisher Cyborgs. They are like the original Punisher Cyborg but with slightly less power because there are so many of them.

Did they ever do a "Whaqt If" story where all the Fantastic Four became Heralds of Galactus at the same time, like when he first came to Earth the only way to stop him was to agree to be his Heralds?

Tyrant is (seemingly) dead. He was killed by the Ultimate Nullifier.

Aunt May.

If I'm not mistaken, Aunt May has been the Herald of Galactus. I'm thinking it was Marvel Team-Up 148 or so. Franklin Richards was also featured in the issue. I bought the issue new when I was a kid, but I sold it along with several others when I first got married to raise funds for the household.

Keith

Ah, yes, the infamous Assistant Editor's Month. I think they got him to leave Earth alone by giving him a giant Hostess Twinkie, or some such thing. :yay:

The Impossible Man, but I don't know if Galactus would want him. I seem to remember the FF sending him to the planet that the Impossible Man is from and Galactus getting a big case of indigestion :yay:

They did make Thor the Herald of Galactus in a "What If" comic.

I'd like to see the story in more detail though.
