Galactus and his Heralds

I think the Void would make a good herald. It would really amp up the conflict between himself and the Sentry. Bringing things to a more cosmic scale. The Sentry could go from planet to planet, saving them from various threats while the Void would use Galactus to keep the balance and devour an equal number of worlds.

He couldn't make the Void a herald without the Sentry becoming one too. And if the Sentry's power truly is high enough to actually make Galactus not eat Earth all on his own, chances are, he wouldn't want a more powerful Sentry flitting about.

Already, the Void would probably be considered cosmic scale if he actually visited more planets. (Like when the Void destroyed the Tempoloran home world most likely under his own power.)

I thought the last Sentry mini established the Sentry and the Void as separate beings. The way I understood it, Bob Reynolds took the formula, gained boatloads of power, became the Void, then became the Sentry to compensate for his feelings of guilt as the Void, then, eventually, the Sentry split off into his own being.

In the very end, they reconciled, showing themself to be the same being.

In the very first Sentry mini, the Sentry stated that the Void had become his own being, but really wasn't somehow.

I thought in the very end the Sentry tossed the Void into the sun. I know they're still bonded in some way because the Sentry basically said that as long as he's around, the Void will always come back, but I thought they were still separate physical entities.

It made it seem a little earlier that Rob is the Void, and the Sentry just kind of exists, but it turns out that the Sentry is the part of Rob that literally balances himself out.

Most solidly identified when the Void pleads, "But I'm Rob Reynolds!" And the Sentry replies, "So am I." And then throws the Void into the sun after the Void kisses him profession love to the Sentry. THe idea that the Void seems to always come back is when Rob becomes the Sentry, the Void also seems to split from the transformation, leaving the idea that the Sentry can't keep the Void locked, because to become the Sentry, Rob must actually also split into the Void. Hence, the whole mental balance, or else the Sentry would be at literal full power.

I got all that, but the fact that they're two sides of Bob's psyche doesn't prohibit them from being separate entities right now. I thought they had split into separate beings a while ago and the Sentry half of Bob threw the Void half of Bob into the sun, which is why the Sentry's allowed to roam around Void-free at the moment--because it'd take the Void half of Bob a while to get out of the sun and get back to Earth and all that. Although I suppose a new Void-Bob could pop out of Sentry-Bob instead. The Sentry's way too weird.

More like...dissapated into a cloud, not destroyed, like you said, but it doesn't make them separate entities altogether in the sense that if Galactus empowered the Void, that the Sentry wouldn't be eventually affected. Because to become Rob again, he has to recombine his parts, and with the influence of the power cosmic, and the idea that the Void and Sentry pull their powers from the same source (given the idea that the more power the Sentry uses, the more powerful the Void becomes, and the more likely a Void attack will happen), gives the idea that empowering the Void would likewise power the Sentry.

That's what I thougt, too. Aren't they actually two separate entities? Dammit, let me speak to the writer of that mini-series!!
