Galactus in FF2:Climactic battle or Cliffhanger ?

My best guess is the cliffhanger with Doom acting like he is helping the FF to stop the surfer, only to later steal his powers. Leading Doom to defeat the FF in battle and just when it looks like all is lost.... the big "G" shows up and defeats Doom like an insignificant insect. This will illuminate Galactus' power and set up nicely the epic battle coming.

I don't think this will end on a cliff hanger for many reasons.

1- The writer stated that he would like to use Puppet Master in a third FF movie. This says to me his script has an end to the whole Galactus story.

2- FOX wants to milk this for as much money as they can. The best way to do it is to introduce the SS here, and once the movie is a success, branch out into a spin-off for SS and do FF3 at the same time.

3- People say that is a lot to put into a movie, but look at FOX's track record. I will mostly point to X3. They crammed a lot into that movie in a short period. This shows FOX is more than willing to tell a lot in a little.

We may not have heard anything about Galactus yet, but that could be for a variety of reasons. I think there is more evidence saying this is it for the story than saying this will be two parts.

I agree,i think that we will see a huge showdown similar to what is planned for SM3
Fox will want a Silver Surfer movie in 2009 along with an FF3 IMO and if they do a cliffhanger they can't do that

Exactly. They would have to wait on a Surfer film, and they don't want to do that. Plus, in FF3, they may be able to add more characters they could make spin-offs out of. It just isn't as good for FOX financially to do this over two movies, and we know FOX is all about money (considering all their movies are short so they can cram as many screenings as possible). I see the royal rumble coming at the end.

Climatic battle. I'd rather they tie up all loose ends in THIS film, so we can be treated to an entirely NEW adaption/adventure in the NEXT movie (Annihilus, Inhumans, Panther, etc.,).

Cliffhanger, SS in 2009, FF3 In 2010, heck for all we know a surfer script is being polished right now. It has been in development for like how long 10 years.

Announcement at end of June after FF2 cleans up at the box office.

However the MTV expose mentioned an intergalactic war in 24 hours, so that tells me that Galactus' arrival is imminent, so hmmmmmmm.

Yeah, riiight, I saw that guy bangin' Rosie O' Donnel in an episode once, I threw up a bit. But yeah, he's still a flaky actor on that show too.

I am SOOOOO glad I didnt witness that. I threw up a but just atthe THOUGHT of it. I don't know whether my respect for Julian went down (allowing himself to be seen 'banging' o'donnel) or up (having the dedication to his role to go thru the horror!).

And if they cram the whole Galactus story onto one movie, I say it'll suck. They need to build up the suspence then create a huge desire for people to come back and seee the finale in the 3rd movie.

Yeah, but the truth is, most people don't even know who the hell Silver Surfer and Galactus are. They're not going to invest as much time and attention to them as us. I say, go for broke, give people a lot of something good...if it is.

i figure the surfer will be the villain for most of the film, then, when he's (probably) beaten, but shown mercy, and not killed, he decides to help earth out against... pan out to galactus hovering in space, heading towards earth.

Cliffhangers suck...HARD! Yes i'm looking at you, Dead man's Chest. I say we get a battle royal between the Surfer, Doom, Fantastic Four, and Galactus and save the next movie for Puppetmaster, or Annihilus. Heck, I'd even goes for some Skrulls.

I hope this doesn't end up like X-3 with everything rushed, I hope we get SS developed into a meaningful character and not just a cool FX show-off. I mean SS will be a villain in this movie but so will doom so those 2 are enough for one movie already.This is fox, galactus could easily end up looking like crap(which I hope not) and becoming a secondrate throw-away villain.

I definitely would like to see Galactus next movie. I think we need to get a real sense of threat from Doom with the Power Cosmic- I want to actually see him as a planet-wide threat or beyond. That way when we finally SEE Galactus in movie 3 and see how much more powerful than Doom he was... it will hammer the point home further.

I'm guessing cliff hanger, but you can only do so much with the SS in one movie. I'm hoping for a the Secret Wars scenario where Doom steals the power of Galactus just as he is about to feed. )

Picture it:

The Silver Surfer in a confrontation with Galactus after trying to get his master to stay his hunger and spare the Earth, so full and rich with life, reminding the Surfer of his own humanity and all he gave up.

Doom plotting to steal the power of Galactus lingers and looms in the background, perhaps his scenes are shown as a sidestory, until the end of the film we see Doom's intentions. He steals Galactus's power. In triumph he begins to display his power for all to see and fear. The FF and the SS stare in utter disbelief (along with the audience) at what has just happened.

"Bow before your lord and master! Bow before DOOM!!"

My bet is since ir seems they are using Ultimate Galactus the story will all be told in this movie and the SS with FF in the Fantasticar vs the ships in a Star Wars like Dogfight over New York will be the closing battle

I may not have been clear enough for you. Nothing heroic about it. Galactus arrives to destroy the planet quickly saves/ rectifies the situaton with his defeated herald and returns his attention to the the destruction of the planet.

Since we have now seen the teaser which looks like the Silver Surfer is introduced right at the beginning of the film I would guess that we will have the epic battle with Galactus at the end!
