Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum?

Which begs the question: Why are so many so eager to shoehorn her into Gambit's origin?

It's the same for the question: Why the fans were so mad when she was cut from DoFP. Why so many people were excited about the Rogue Cut?

These questions only show how popular and beloved Rogue is. Everybody knew she wouldn't have a huge part and everybody knew she would be the same character from OT. But still everybody wanted to see her.

Fox is stupid if they don't realize how massively popular she is.

Look at all the feedback the comic accurate Deadpool is getting. Imagine the excitement if they got Rogue right this time.

You could say the same about 70% of the characters in the x-men universe though, everyone has their favourite character so if they had say cut either storm, jean, psylocke, bishop, wolverine, gambit, cyclops, quicksilver, magneto, xavier, emma frost ect ect it would have got the same back lash so really rogue isn't anymore popular then the otbers

Did I miss the backlash of them killing Emma Frost? :oldrazz:

I'm not saying she is the most popular character. Neither that she is more popular that Storm, Scott or others. I'm saying that she is massively popular and that's why people want her in the movies.

And Gambit is not really the only movie people ask her presence. A lot of fans want to see her in Wolverine too. And whenever the possibility of a Mystique movie shows up, Rogue and Kurt are always mentioned as possible supporting characters.

The thing is, relationships (in general) are something really important in the X-Men comics. And that's one of the things I don't like about the OT. They left a lot of those relationships behind: Storm/Jean, Kurt/Mystique, Rogue/Mystique, Charles/Marko, Kitty/Logan, Kitty/Colossus among others...

And that's something they're "fixing" in this new trilogy where they want to explore Eric/Pietro, Scott/Alex, Scott/Jean, Kurt/Raven...

Those relationships are a big part of the comics, and it's only natural that the fans want to see that in the movies too.

Why are we concerned about the budget? It's not our money.

Normally, I'd agree with you JP.

(No matter the budget, we still pay the same price to see any given film, as moviegoers)

Gambit's budget is interesting, though. Lauren Shuler Donner and Channing Tatum pitched it to FOX originally as a small film, (a la Deadpool). If the rumored budget is true, that's extremely surprising.

That's way more than the last Wolverine film!

(117 Million, per James Mangold)

I do think the studio see's landing Tatum as a coup and frankly he's the only reason this movie is happening. Wouldn't surprise me, if they give him a serious push to succeed Hugh Jackman, as the new face of the franchise.

I do love the fact that they got Chris Claremont himself to pen the story treatment. That's class.

Do you think Tatum will wear the black thing Gambit wears in this fan-art? Or they will go with non-comic costume?

Normally I'd say no, but after seeing Psylocke's costume... who knows?

Rejoice Tatum haters but I don't know if Gambit fans should be rejoices because the whole film could fall apart.

I don't love the choice of Tatum but I don't hate it either. It's a so-so thing for me.

I don't hate Tatum. I just think he's completely wrong for the role. I'm pretty apathetic to a Gambit movie anyway.

“Gambit” has long been a passion project for Tatum, whose attachment encouraged 20th Century Fox to ramp up production. However, Tatum also has larger ambitions, which may play a role in the current situation.

That sounds too fishy for me to buy it.

So, the film has been taking longer than planned to get off the ground because Tatum was shooting from a-list directors (who all turned it down) and now he's not satisfied with how things are going?

It's ****ing GAMBIT. He needs to realize how lame the character is and start settling. LOL.

Not too me. See above. He wanted top tier directors, and now he probably wants top tier talent. And with the budget rumored at $150m, it's clear that he doesn't get that GAMBIT is not BATMAN.

Tatum's been championing for this for quite some time. Must be something serious.
