Tatum leaving this movie is just plain dumb on his part the man has no franchises Magic Mike just underperformed the less said about Jupiter ascending the better where does he have any leverage to make demands here he needs X-men they don't need him.

Since my prayers have been answered and Channing is finally out who could take his place? I'd like to put Greyston Holt in consideration though he isn't a draw at the moment but he can have a Hugh Jackman.

Please bring Taylor back he was great as gambit (and looks good next to Anna but anyway) Tatum would be better playing Cannonball.

I'm wondering if the budget was the reason for the rift. FOX (wisely) deciding that a Gambit movie didn't justify a $150M budget and Tatum balking.

This sucks for the movie but I'm so glad Tatum is not playing the role. Taylor Kitsch fit the role better than him. Hopefully this doesn't spell doom for the movie, but I'm afraid someone with Tatum's star power would help a movie like this get made, instead of the integrity of the character.

Actually, does anyone think it's possible that Channing is flexing through the press to get a better deal? Unlikely, but things like that have happened before.

Huh... Weird just saw this on Collider.

There's no word why he'll drop out or did I miss that?

Wow! This is unexpected.

If Tatum walks, I would be very surprised if this still goes into production. He was pretty much the driving force behind this.

I wonder what happened? :hmm

Something I noticed in the article is the name Lea Seydoux being looked at to join the movie. She literally looks like Bella Donna ripped from the comics.

Yeah, definitely Bella Donna. Not Rogue. :p

Great news. Channing needs to play Captain Marvel (Shazam).

Since Channing was one of the main people rooting for this film to happen I'm guessing this film is pretty much dead in the water?

They are not making this film with Kitsch as the star, that just flat out is not going to happen.

is taylor kitsch good in true detective?

Who's making demands? The Wrap claims that Tatum may be leaving the production for undisclosed reasons. I maintain it's a script and timing issue. I.E. he has other things he wants to do (The Wrap mentions these) that have firm dates and Gambit may not have a doable script to go ahead right now, so...he may make another choice.

:word:

Better yet , have Taylor reprise his role to reestablish a connection with Rogue , have timeline set one movie after Apocalypse and then the next xmen movie would catch up where they can all meet.

He has not yet quit the role and I'm not sure that he will. I think he's just negotiating a pay raise via the press.

True Detective season two has falling ratings and poor reviews. It is not going to help him get a lead role in a 100+ million dollar film.

Not as a solo film , but I could see it being possible with the ensemble films. That's assuming this gets completely dropped which I suspect it will or morph into something else. I wouldn't mind seeing Kitsch back. Another suggestion I liked was Josh Halloway.

Jeff Sneider brings up an interesting point...could Tatum jump ship for Han Solo? His old Jump Street pals Lord and Miller are directing...

The story isn't as good in this season but the acting is fantastic. It's getting an unfair rap from some critics. I'd say it's the best role Colin Ferrell has had in years.

LOL. They're not bring back Taylor Kitsch. Are you guys serious? :funny:

I'm not suggesting they would for a solo film. That would be silly. What I'm saying is this project will fall through and at that point they may as well bring him back for the ensemble films.

I don't get the Taylor Kitsch love.

He played a pretty dull Gambit.

They won't bring Kitsch back. Wolverine Origins is not in continuity, FOX is pretending it never existed.
