Best sine Tyrion slapping Joffrey
so male hype members are complaining over a long lesbian scene
what planet am i on?
So what was the deal with the guy who stood for the imp? Do they go into why he risked his life for him in the books?

In the previous episode they struck a deal while being attacked on the way to The Vale. It's a very clipped version of a fully conversation involving Tyrion retaining his services. But yes, just like everything else, it's explained better and at more in depth in the book.
In a trial by combat you can fight for yourself or appoint a champion. The 7 gods would make sure the victor fought on the virtuous side. So Tyrion knew he was walking into a trial and picked his champion in the previous episode (which is about 3 weeks to a month ago).
In the show it looked like the merc stood for Tyrion out of sympathie.
Yeah, I noticed that. But what really happened was a deal was made during the attack on the way to The Vale. In the show they just had Tyrion being saved and hardly an agreement to be hired as his sellsword.
It would have been a cool insert into an action scene having Tyrion be saved then bargaining with Lannister money to hire a mercenary. There was also a conversation that happened before the trial that I don't think I saw happen.
I can see why Ned Stark wants no part of being the Hand, but after King Robert threated him by saying that he'd give it to the Queen if he turned it down, he was backed into a corner. I think that's why he tried to send his daughters back to Winterfell, because he was gonna go after the Lannisters and he knew his life may be in peril, but the girls have none of it. I do fear for his life for openly challenging the most affluent family in the 7 Kingdom, though.
Btw, just like Rage I don't have much time after work, hence the reason for my slow reading of the first book. I managed to finish Bran's chapter last night, but in doing so I only had 5 hours of sleep before I have to wake up and drive almost an hour to work. My family & kids also take most of my free time away as well.
However to lighten the mood I give you this. Someone definately needs this as an avy.

I want to see the little boy fly!!!
So I saw episode seven (through legal means, not to worry), man, what a great episode! Best one yet IMO. There's no Tyrion so I guess we're going to have to wait for [BLACKOUT]Shagga and the Mountain Clans[/BLACKOUT]! When I think about how much there is left to cover these final three episodes are going to be break neck.I know the Tullys will be pushed to Season 2 though.
I just read that those chapters about a week ago... I don't remember them coming to an agreement. I do remember them hitting it off though. I remember in the book that Bronn actually asks Tyrion how he knew Bronn would take his cause. Tyrion explains (I'm actually reading from the book, but will paraphrase here)
"Back at the inn you took Lady Stark call to duty, not for honour but for the same reason any sellsword does anything... for gold. You hoped Lady Stark would take you into here service. The Starks look for courage, loyatly and honour... you are lowborn scum. Once we reached the Vale, Lady Stark had no more need of you... but I did, and the one thing the Lannisters have never lacked for is gold."
It is entirely possible that they will not cover the entire novel and will instead pull up short and leave us with a cliffhanger... didn't read your spoiler because I'm not done reading Game of Thrones yet.... but that is my guess.
No they are going to finish the season 1 with the way the book ends

Where are you up to? You can put it in spoilers.
