Haha! That part was AWESOME! I have a new favorite phrase now as well. "Milking the eel" hahahaha
I intend to read the books sometime this year (not right now).
However, I shouldn't have to read the book to like a show as you suggest that is what you want from this show. And you're still attacking a number of great scenes because they weren't in the book. That's not because they're bad, but because they're different. By that logic Coppola did a terrible job adapting The Godfather when he made the hits on the four dons and Moe Green happen simultaneously and juxtaposed it with the baptism of Carlo and Connie's baby. That was a huge departure from how the book handled that....and it was bloody brilliant. One of the best scenes in movie history and far and away better than what Puzo did on the page. Same with how Coppola and Pacino developed Michael or how he and Cazale and Coppola made Fredo more of a sweet, helpless man-child in the film.
These are changes from the book. Are they bad? No. They make the movie much better.
Maybe you'll understand what i'm talking about when you'll read the books.
Allow me to sharpen my thoughts... Most of the added scenes IMO was a complete waste of time and mostly awful, and it has nothing to do with them not being in the books. Maybe you'll understand what i'm talking about when you'll read the books.
Other than that... I have no problems with changes in TV shows based on books, as long as it's advancing the plot and it's not there for a "filler", and most of those scenes i mentioned looked to my like Fillers... And bad ones.
I've seen a lot of film and TV Shows based on books... And i can recognize bad adoptions when i see them. Weiss&Benioff Should have learned from shows like "Dexter" and movies like "The Shawshank Redemption", "The Green Mile" and even the "LOTR" movies how to do it right! They didn't... But that only me. No one need to agree with me about it.
Fred Flinstone had me cracking up this episode
*SLAP*
I should wear this like a badge of honor
"Wear it in silence or I shall honor you again".
****ing classic.
Tyrion's confessions of his sins was PERFECT! LOL, I loved that part!
Great episode last night. Loved how they handled the "Crowning" Of Targaryen. The metallic "thud" when his head fell to the floor was just great stuff.![]()
Best quote of the episode:
"You do not fight with honor!"
"No, but he did."
*looks down hole*
One thing I have to ask because it's been bugging me- The direwolves. I've watched it 3 times now, am I crazy, or in the first episode do they not say something along the lines of "5 wolves.. one for each of the Stark children" implying 5 Stark children.. and then the lines about Jon, how he's not a Stark, and then he finds the runt of the litter, the 6th, and takes that.
Who the hell is the 5th Stark child? For a while I thought it was Greyjoy, but he is not their child, just their ward. Does a ward count as a child? It seems to me a half blooded Stark should count more, but hey, whatever. So, Robb, Bran, Sansa, and Arya. Not counting Jon, is there a 5th? What the hell happened here.
Haha yeah!
Yeah, Tyrion is the best thing about this show!
Yeah the crowning was awesome and the dialogue was hilarious, but i gotta question regarding this Crowning:
[BLACKOUT]So the sister isa true dragon since she isn't harmed by fire, but while she and the brother we're siblings, he was just much weaker than her or something? Thus not a true dragon after all.[/BLACKOUT]
Oh, 'I'm aware. Doesn't change the fact that there was zero need for the entire leasbian scene going on in the background with him randomly telling them what to do. "I'd do anything for her and she's awesome....Now play with her ass.....but she married a Stark". Come on.Soulless,
Littlefingers story is very telling - is gives alot of insight into him, his past, his character, motivations, views, etc

You forgot Rickon, making it five. Jon is a bastard so he doesn't count as a Stark, hence his elemental surname.
just saw episode 7
the brothel scene with the girls doing it to each other was just so excessive...It lasted liked 5 minutes...Going to be really awkward watching that with the gf this weekend...What an ending though. Love this show and books
I can't comment on story points that far in the future. But there are many spectacular battles in the series. Who is to say those two armies ever meet? It's a game you know. Wheels within wheels.
From your post I can see that youve not finished the first book yet.
The son of Lady Stark' sister ( her name espaces me ) is meant to be mentally challenged ?
