It's not degraded, it is merely not what it used to be before they changed it to have fewer features.

The problem is the FTC and their lawyers were new to gaming when they took this case and don't really have much understanding of the industry even now. That's why they looked silly in their court case making too many basic mistakes that anyone in the industry wouldn't make (should have hired lawyers with experience in gaming).
