I won't get into old rock and roll or blues stuff, but let me suggest some more "modern" rock albums.

Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (Teenage Riot is an incredible song)
Nirvana - Unplugged and Nevermind (IMO, their only albums worth a damn)
Foo Fighters - The Colour & The Shape (One of the best rock albums EVER)
Stone Temple Pilots - Core, Purple and Tiny Music... (their best albums)
Pearl Jam - Anything by them
Radiohead - Pablo Honey, The Bends, O.K. Computer, Kid A and Insomniac.
Unbelievable Truth - Almost here (soft, but incredibly good)
Travis - The Man Who (I love everything they do, but The Man Who was their first cd I had, and it's AMAZING.)

That should be enough for now.
