Games that everyone else likes, but you don't

The time I've had GTA 4 "freeze" was when I started the mission "Hung out to Dry". All I had to do was restart my system, load up my save and do the mission. Just a matter of a couple minutes.

I don't ***** about minor ****

GTA series - gameplay reasons, I guess people just love to kill game characters and have to run away from the cops
COD series - much more overrated then Halo. At last Halo has a good story to it.
WoW - no need to explain.

Umm, you do know that a majority of games have had the character "kill" game characters, so it's not like the GTA series invented that aspect

I like having a car chase and trying to avoid the cops in the GTA games. It's like turning those cop chase shows on Fox on their heads.

The funniest part for me was in the very first game. In the second city (San Andreas) they had some streets that were higher than the others. I would get the cops after me and drive to a spot where a street would pass over another street. I would sit back and watch the cars swarm to get me and fall off the higher street to their death. I used that to take a break for more pop or to go to the bathroom

Gears of War- It's good but there's nothing about it that makes it deserve all the accolades it gets.
Metal Gear Solid series- I want to play games, not watch them.
Final Fantasy series- Nothing about it grabs my interest.
World of Warcraft- I only want to pay for a game once. Never liked Warcraft to begin with.
Halo- Single player was kinda boring. I never paid attention to the story in the 3rd (never played all of the 1st or any of the 2nd). Only reason I own this is for the multiplayer which is great.
God of War- The gameplay and story are great. But Kratos just became annoying and the amount violence and nudity is unnecessary.

Stop trying to be a smart ass when you know what I mean.

How am I being a smartass?

In Pac-Man, he can eat ghosts after taking a steroid...I mean a powerup.

Mario stomps on the heads of his enemies

Banjo has various means to kill enemies (claw, roll, or using moves involving Kazooie)

But because GTA uses various weapons and cars to kill characters, that's somehow different?

If you read the first part it says GAMEPLAY REASONS. Meaning, I hate the way the game plays.

GTA bothers me because its just annoyingly dumb. Beyond the point of reason, stupid. The Stories arent that interesting and the free roam is done better in other games. The games always have subpar graphics and seem to relish in that fact. You pull guns and other weapons out of your ass and blow **** up for NO POINT. That is annoying and ******ed. Since this thread is about games YOU hate and OTHERS love, don't bother defending the game SOMEONE else said they hate. Its the point of the thread. I mean its common sense.

As for seeing God Of War on some lists I NEED to know why, because honestly im really curious, they are pretty fun. lol I won't argue i just need to know.

Your arguments are so well thought out and classy. It's like you planned this all out the day before and spent the time between revising it to perfection.

The Final Fantasy series (and, really, any turn-based Japanese RPG): These always feel more like movies with interactive segments interspersed throughout the cutscenes rather than games, plus I'm not a fan of turn-based games in general. They feel very dry and uninteresting to me. Also, I'm really not a fan of most of the stories of the games. I kind of have this thing about anime being overly philosophical and lacking any subtlety whatsoever in delivering its philosophical messages, and that definitely comes into play in the stories of Final Fantasy for me.

World of Warcraft: I get addicted enough to normal games and am only freed from that addiction when the game mercifully ends and I can go back to real life for a bit. I'd hate to imagine my life with an endless MMORPG in the mix. Plus, paying for a game forever sucks. Plus, the mechanics of MMOs are ******ed to me, given that the game can practically play itself, you basically need big groups of people to accomplish anything worthwhile, you have to engage in hours and hours of mindless bulls*** to get experience and level up, etc. Basically, everything about WoW runs against my personal preferences in games. Well, except that there aren't cutscenes, only I hear Wrath of the Lich King just added those, as well.

Metal Gear Solid: Not a fan of stealth as the primary component of games. I haven't got the patience for it. If I do play a stealth-based game, I tend to prefer stuff like Splinter Cell and Thief, too. Also, MGS indulges in a lot of the Japanese game conventions I mentioned earlier--interminable cutscenes, inelegantly told stories that beat you over the head with their philosophizing, etc. I played MGS and a bit of MGS2 out of some kind of imagined obligation because I thought everyone who owns a console needs to play the series, but then I realized that I just didn't enjoy it at all and quit.

With God of War what I hate is Kratos and the amount of violence and nudity. Kratos becomes annoying over the course of the game. He's just a screaming psychopath. The amount of violence and nudity in the game was unnecessary and added nothing to the game. Other than that, the gameplay and story were great.

Well, the amount of violence adds something. By their nature, the character, the situations he's in, his past, and his goals are all extremely violent. Sugarcoating the violence would've been a big mistake, as far as I'm concerned.

The nudity was definitely useless, though. The weird bonus sex game was also kind of silly.

Yea games like that do need to be violent. When I play a game where its shooting or swordplay involved and there is no blood, it really bugs me. It takes me out of the game.

I only played the first God of War. It was ok, but I felt the gameplay took a turn for the worse from Hades on. The platforming out of nowhere was annoying, and then the Kratos clones just sucked any remaining enjoyment and I lost any interest in finding out what happened next.

I thought at times it was just a bit over the top. I haven't played it in a long time so I can't recall most of the things that I thought were over the top.

Yeah, Hades got really annoying. I especially hated those rotating spinal cords with the blades coming out of them.
