Sci-Fi Gareth Edwards's Jurassic World Rebirth

I love Lost World. Haters stay pressed.
Maybe it's just me but I feel like The Lost World was way more hated before the Jurassic World movies came around. Almost as if people were like, "Wow, maybe it's not so bad after all" after Fallen Kingdom and Dominion.

I know this is going to sound like a weird complaint, but there's too many people/characters in The Lost World.
I like the survival tone of the first and third ones.
More people, more dino food. And oh man, were there ever a lot of people getting eaten in that one. :o

Lost World is way better than Temple of Doom. Temple of Doom only gets good halfway through. The first half is mostly bad comedy involving Willie whining and screaming endlessly.

Lost World is more consistent in how fun in is.
No argument here! Temple of Doom is often extremely annoying not to mention incredibly, unpardonably racist even for the time it was made. But its still amazing filmmaking from Spielberg and some incredible set pieces on top of Ford being Ford and some truly exceptional atmosphere.

Don’t get me started on, Temple of, Doom.

Anyone getting Lost World vibes from that photo? Cause I am, and it's got me excited!
Yup, me too. The best JP sequel! Hopefully this one can finally take it's place, especially with Edwards and Koepp involved.

Was this shot rather quickly or is just my perception?

So ready for this trailer! Ready to continue the Jurassic universe. Scarlet looks

In today's world where blockbuster movies are announced at least a year before they are ready to shoot, yes, it seems like it.

Now that you mention it, I think Gareth Edwards came in rather late during pre-production and why the time between his announcement and production has been shorter.

I mean, the movie was announced in Jan. When was the last major blockbuster that was announced 5 months before shooting?

A VFX guy I spoke to on a social networking app claims he is working on this film and says they’re using more CGI than practical effects. He also said that the Spinosaur and pteranodons are appearing, as well as a D-Rex. I asked if he meant ‘T-Rex’ and he said “no, a D-Rex”. Apparently it’s a mutant dinosaur. Just take it with a grain of salt as I don’t know if he was just trolling me. He didn’t reply when I asked him more about it. 😆

Grain of salt or no, you should spoiler tag all of that anyway just in case.

“…everything old is new again.”

So, I guess we’re now officially in the era of Hollywood, or anyone for that matter, just officially giving up on wanting to move forward and trying anything new and/or risky, and are instead just playing it safe by going back to the well and cashing in on old IPs and nostalgia for the foreseeable future. Oh, joy.

How the hell did this industry, and our country, get to this point? When did the general populace become so averse to new things and just decided to settle for the same old, same old? Absolutely baffling.

If you thought the gap between the mid budget and high budget film was wide before, it’s going to get even wider.

You are kidding yourself if you think this is anything new in Hollywood.

Nice to see new photos that aren't just from the same tall grass scene, but still waiting on that trailer.

I’m definitely not under the illusion that Hollywood forsaking originality for safe bets is a recent trend. They’ve definitely been at this way longer than I’ve been alive. It just seems to becoming even way more and more blatant and more of an issue than it already was. :pensive:

I think that anything that isn't a "big popcorn summer blockbuster" is going through a great era. Lots of amazing dramas, thrillers, horror movies.
Is the big movies that are failing spectacularly, for the most part.

Yeah, Horror may not be dominating the box office, but it is probably doing a lot better in terms of profit then a lot of bigger films.

Which is exactly why I’ve been rolling my eyes at people getting pissy about a lower-budgeted horror-based Clayface movie.
