A few weeks ago, rumors from an unlikely source surfaced saying that tentative plans to release the long sought after second volume of "Gargoyles" were in the works. Most of us dismissed it, it had been six years since volume one of the second DVD set had been released with no sign of the second half.

But, some of us e-mailed Disney and checked, and I received this e-mail in response.

Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate your interest and are happy to answer your questions.

There are tentative plans to release the rest of this series in 2012. No further details are available at this time.

To view our release calendar and see what great titles are currently available and coming soon, please visit http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/release-calendar.htm.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Sincerely,

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Consumer Relations
US and Canada

James Harvey, head reporter of ToonZone, received a similar e-mail, and others are also reporting having received it. If you liked "Spectacular Spider-Man," "Young Justice," and the second season of "W.I.T.C.H." it looks like Greg Weisman's magnum opus will finally be completed on DVD.

It would be about time! But knowing Disney they will probably release it in a complete series forcing me to rebuy the entire series. Sure it would be worth it but ya.

I hope this happens.

They still haven't finished DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin and Darkwing Duck yet.

I want Aladdin, too.

That's what I was thinking. I wonder if anyone has asked about these titles? If Disney is revisiting Gargoyles, why not these?

Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding the email to contact Disney about this. Could someone post it here please? Thanks. :yay:

Is that the season where they're traveling through time and space?

Yep sure is, through Avalon.

I also have been waiting for The Little Mermaid. Dont know why Disney release these.

Have we heard that the rest of Gargoyles Series is getting released on DVD in 2012 of Season 2, Volume 2 and Season 3 by Disney? I am looking forward of getting Gargoyles Season 2, Volume 2 and Season 3 both on DVD of when they get released in 2012. Why are there tentative plans for Gargoyles DVD's of Season 2, Volume 2 and Season 3 being released in 2012?

As I recall, the production value of the series really plummeted Season 3. It was so bad I didn't finish out the series.

Disney, at least put this (as well as other shows) on streaming somewhere FFS.

Disney's email address is [email protected] and the phone number is 1-800-723-4763 to ask them to see if there are plans to release the rest of the Gargoyles Series on DVD in 2012 of Season 2, Volume 2 and Season 3.

Any NEW news on this? I checked the calendar and there is nothing about gargoyles at all, and searching still only brings up season 1 and season 2-volume 1....

In my eyes, this was the best show disney put out for "Disney Afternoon" and I (as well as many others, to include you) feel mildly, to extremely annoyed at not being able to get the rest of the show, or at the very least, the rest of the second season. I hated waiting for the new episodes when it was airing, but this is way worse.

So yeah, does anyone know anything more about this?

man i miss gargoyles. Its a shame to comic didn't take off like it could have. It was such a great fantasy world.

yeah one of my favorite shows. they still air it on Disney xd, upscaled to hd. though im not sure if it is edited or not, haven't watched them in a while. i do remember them editing out when oberon gets harpoon'd.

Im just sad that since its owned by Disney Greg will most likely never be able to continue the franchise.

This is something I can get on board with. I always thought this was a quality show growing up.

Gargoyles was the only Disney show I found tolerable enough to watch since I mostly stay away from cutesy Disney fluff and seeing as how their releasing the rest on DVD why aren't they getting the ball rolling on the 90's Spider-Man series? Disney owns Marvel right?

Season 2 vol.2 is now available as a Disney Movie Club exclusive.

It's in their latest flier they sent out, I suppose they'll wait until tomorrow (release day Tuesday) to put it on their website.

Yeah I just read about it on other sites. I would sign up but then I don't want to be committed to having to buy other titles from the site so I hope it gets released on amazon.

Shame Disney Movie Club isn't available for the UK.
I want this DVD set so badly!
Love Disney animation AND Gargoyles, plus I have the other sets...but I can't get it! LOL

A friend of mine received his copy from the Disney Movie Club. The episodes are uncut and uncensored... which is a big deal for "Gargoyles" fans since the episodes haven't aired that way since 1997.
